One thing does puzzle me, if, as most think there will be a general elections, it will be a one subject campaign, because of the events of the last few days.
Which party is going to be the leaver, and which will be the remainer?
If Corbyn is still in charge, I can see Labour being so split it won't matter, and if Boris doesn't become Tory leader, which way will they jump.
Im not convinced that the Tories will campaign for a complete break even if Boris is in charge

Agree if an election it will be a one subject campaign. I will vote for whoever is the credible party to keep us in

Today, foreign ministers from the European Union’s six founding member states issued an extraordinary statement, declaring that they will “recognize different levels of ambition amongst Member States when it comes to the project of European integration.” This was a landmark capitulation by the major European powers, accepting the idea that uniformity across the bloc is impossible and nations can choose the terms of membership.

They've been doing that for decades

Just came across this priceless comment from a reader of ft.com:

The young, the bright, the educated, the energetic and the ambitious have been stymied by the old, the bigoted, the stupid and the illiterate, driven on by racist propaganda and outright lies. Just as any applicant for UK citizenship has to face an exam on British history etc., perhaps anybody voting in a UK referendum should be required to pass a similar intelligence/current affairs test. I feel very aggrieved that my "remain" vote, based on a tertiary education, many weeks of close study, analysis of newspaper articles etc., should be nullified by some buffoon of a Sun reader who can barely read or write.

Who pays for that twats education? houses feeds and allows them freedom? not just the parents I can tell you

Sums it up...respect your elders.

I would say that old people have every sodding right to a vote, to be allowed a say.
These 'old people' many of you speak of, fought for our country. For our freedom. For our right to have a voice. You all used that right they fought so hard for on Thursday and you should be ashamed of yourself if you've even used that as an ammunition point.

I understand many of these veterans I speak of are now no longer with us, but their children are. And their grandchildren. And I'm pretty sure they haven't forgotten what these 'old' people did for us. They fought for peace and unity in the world, but they also fought for our country. How could a group of people be anymore torn with which way to vote than these? They may be 'old', but I sure as hell don't believe that the Grandparents of today would want to jeopardize the world of tomorrow.

Agree with all of this and perhaps if they directed a bit more of their hot air towards the 70% of their age group that did not bother voting for their futures rather than the people who turned out to exercise their democratic right to vote

The article is Carney saying they wont have power over the currency, the point i made. We cant stop them. It will be costly for them but as brexit has shown sometimes people are willing to forgo some wealth for they perceive as higher principles. Welcome to a new smaller country

Delightful, it's a shame so many of the young, the bright, the educated, the energetic and the ambitious aren't more gracious in defeat and feel the need to stigmatise and sneer at those less fortunate than themselves.

How many voted that were eligible for voting? of 18-24 year olds....My 18 year old did and she voted leave,she works 30 hours per week and studies and has passed her driving test and pays her bills half these muppets don't even know the real world.

Yep we do choose it. Free trade, NO uncontrolled freedom of movement. Our justice is precedent. Our decision is final. We deal with you and support you militarily. If 'emergencies' of finance within that block occur then each individual country should be able to say what they would like to contribute. It's called compromise, co-operation and equality and at the same time being held to account for idiocy.

I have been wondering about this all weekend and I wonder if we can take some of the issues out of party politics. Take the NHS, we all agree the NHS is great, we all want to keep it but it does need reform. The careful planning and managing is not a task that will take 6 months or a few years but to do a proper job it probably needs longer than the lifetime of a government.

So rather than the adversarial Tory/Labour debate on the NHS and appointing an MP who has no experience or specific skills to oversee the NHS, just a preconceived ideology - if the Tories and Labour could somehow come to an agreement that it's, say a 10 year plan headed up by the very best candidate with the best team, regardless of politics and that the budget will be guaranteed at a minimum of X over the lifetime of the reform - the NHS effectively becomes an NGO and not just fit for purpose but the very best that it can be and for decades to come.

And likewise education. I really don't understand how or why education and health are subjects that free marketeers or socialists in the UK should feel the need to continue trying to control and direct.

I wouldn't go that far but all parties are on a hiding to nothing with the NHS and education and they really are too big and important to be messed around with every five years so make them NGOs so they have the freedom and the time to change for the best.
