I thought this was an interesting headline from yesterday. My first thought was that they were trying to take legal action against the EU but no, it's legal action against the UK Government for lying.

UK shellfish farmers threaten legal action over ban on exports to EU

The environment secretary, George Eustice, is facing a threat of legal action from shellfish farmers over claims that the government has misled the industry over its post-Brexit arrangements with the EU. A solicitor representing 20 shellfish firms told the Guardian the government had shown “negligence and maladministration” and that a group action was being considered for compensation. Separately, an exporter of mussels sent a legal letter to the secretary of state saying the firm would sue for damages if the shellfish market with the EU were not opened up by September.

Andrew Oliver, a partner at Andrew Jackson LLP, said he was representing 20 shellfish firms considering possible legal action against the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: “We are taking a leading counsel’s opinion as to the government’s actions in regard to the EU trade agreement and the assurances given by the government to make live shellfish exports.“We feel that there has been negligence and maladministration regarding the government’s negotiations on the agreement and its treatment of our clients.”

The EU, Shellfish Farmers, I wonder who is next in line to threaten legal action against Johnson's crew ???

People voting to 'take back control' of EU immigration will be pleased to see they got exactly what they voted for ...

... along with people who wanted to leave the EU (17.4 million).

pyrrhic victory

They just don't like foreigners, a small insular and isolated little England is in their sights.

Of course its not just EU nationals that are leaving, we continue to see capital flight and British businesses setting up away from these shores to avoid the red tape.

We're transitioning from Germany + + + to Hungary - - -

Well we didn't have to wait long, it seems a DUP MP and a Haulage company have joined the queue

Boris Johnson faces legal action in new challenge over Brexit agreement secured with EU

A haulage company frustrated by the red tape and bureaucracy introduced as part of the Northern Ireland Protocol and DUP North Antrim MP Ian Paisley have launched legal proceedings. They claim the Protocol infringes the economic rights of Northern Ireland citizens. If the legal action is successful it could force the Government to pay out huge financial settlements in compensation for the disruption to trade caused by the Brexit deal.

And there was me thinking that the DUP and Daily Express were supporters of Johnson's Government :lolol:

Wait for GB businesses to get stuck into the government.

The DUP need to lighten up, remember what Govie said...

Nothing wrong in that, taking back control as instructed , the businesses will come back with their tails between their legs in the long run

That's cool, we'll just hand over the profit to the Dutch in the meantime

Keep saving

So the Brexit bill so far will include

The 200bn and counting for 4.5 years of damage to the economy
Bungs to businesses to keep them afloat now their trade has decreased
Legal costs to defend legal actions against the government
Costs of court payouts and settlements. Now the floodgates have opened could run into 10's of billions

Brexiters will no doubt say this is everything they ever wanted but it'll be their kids and grandkids will be the ones who have to pay for it

There seems to be a complete lack of any posts on here attempting to justify any aspect of what is happening across the UK as a result of Brexit, other than 'we won' :dunce:

It couldn't be quieter on the Brexit thread if two of our four Quadrumvirate of remaining Brexiteers were on final warnings and one had (quite amazingly) found a job and wasn't allowed on their phone posting every hour of every day, apart from the odd tea break. (I guess all supermarkets need packers every day, even bank holidays)

Maybe these are the 'Brexit benefits' :lolol:

Not at all, there's never been a job that's below me. At 15 with a few GCE's you take what you can get. I'll be quite willing to bet that I've had shitter jobs than you.

But equally, I would imagine it's just a bit of a comedown for someone who boasts that they have been an acting, assistant, junior moderator on a politics forum, that's all

*edit*

Anyway, his shift will finish in a minute and he can defend himself
