If the BBC TV show "Hustle" taught me anything, it's that you can't con an honest man. These people were conned, but they wanted to be conned.

I hear you, but I just look at the way the Tories have driven inequality over the past decade. Its not just Brexit, with huge assistance from outside interest they have developed the process of convincing people in act again and again their own interests into an artform.

Britain may still be in top 25 GDP per capita globally but the distribution of wealth has reduced the bottom of 5th of society to second world conditions.

Great. Now all we need to do is to get those Scottish and Devonian fishermen trained up in electronics, relocate them to Yorkshire and we're away...

So,

Siemens have awarded the first £50million of contracts to build it's new plant, the majority with Yorkshire businesses
Samadyl are expanded and doubling their staff from 75 to 150 in 2 years time
Crown paints are consolidating its operations from several older buildings into one modern facility
Glass Futures have put in a Government funded Proposal for Planning permission

All much needed good news for Britain

but how is this related to Brexit

Its all good stuff but as you say not related to Brexit.

We want "because of Brexit" not "inspite of Brexit". We're still scratching around stuck on the Tampon tax....

So now some Brexiters didn't know what they were voting for, it's all very confusing isn't it?

Essentially at the moment we're saying "the house is on fire" and the Brexiters are saying "but the water in the water tank isn't on fire"

Following on from it's 'second referendum', The Express seems confused as to which 'side' it is on today

Brexit blunder as UK agreed to law behind 'shellfish ban' in 2008

Lib Dem North Somerset Councillor for Blagdon and Churchill Patrick Keating wrote on Twitter: "The 'ban' on the import of live molluscs is not specifically targeted at the UK as some sort of 'Brexit revenge'.

"The reality is that these restrictions apply to the import of aquaculture products from every non-EU country, as per Reg. No 1251/2008. This particular piece of legislation dates from 2008 – when the UK was a member state, and had votes in Council and Parliament, so expressions of surprise that there are rules that apply to the import of shellfish from non-EU countries are somewhat disingenuous."

He added: "The failure here is of the Government to properly explain to this industry the reality of trading with the EU as a third country. These are the conditions that logically apply as a consequence of choosing not to be a member. The UK has put itself on the other side of existing barriers".

No idea what they were campaigning for, no idea of what they where voting for, no idea of what they were negotiating and still no idea what they have got.

Their idiocy is consistent throughout, I'll give them that sunshine, I'll give them that

The Express is fast becoming an enemy of the people, pesky facts

What's more looking at this journalist she looks like a millenial Euro-phile, worked and studied in Italy, multi-lingual.

What are they trying to do their readers FFS?

Gary Jones is now the editor. The paper has been taken in a new direction. It still plays to the crowd but has softened its language a lot.

The Dutch really are eating our lunch and we're not just talking sandwiches confiscated from lorry drivers

It’s symbolic in that London has lost its status as the home of EU share trading, but it has a chance to carve out its own niche on trading,” said Anish Puaar, a market structure analyst at Rosenblatt Securities in London.

“Fund managers will be more concerned with availability of liquidity and the costs of placing a trade, rather than whether an order is executed in London or Amsterdam,” Puaar added.

Bank of England Governor’s speech – a few highlights from comments he made about the EU

“This is a standard that the EU holds no other country to and would, I suspect, not agree to be held to itself.”
“This is unrealistic, dangerous and inconsistent with practice.”
“But that is rule-taking pure and simple. It is not acceptable when UK rules govern a system 10 times the size of the UK GDP…”
“Indeed, there are other countries, such as the US and Switzerland that have regimes for small banks and have been determined equivalent by the EU in many areas.”
“I believe we have a very bright future competing in global financial markets underpinned by strong and effective common global regulatory standards.”
