The people of Cornwall believed the lies and false promises of the Tories, when losing their EU grants.
Now they’re finding out the truth.

I don't think many realised where a lot of our grants came from. Our constituency (Truro and Falmouth) had a Tory Remain MP, and we (alone in Cornwall) voted Remain. Then our MP flipped and followed the party line.

As for Boris, I've never believed he wanted a deal. This is all for show.

You forget that the constant drip drip drip of Daily Mail lies and fury was very hard to ignore for many. If you tell a lie over and over again it eventually becomes a truth to many ( see Trump, D and Gates, B, 5G, Anti-Vaxx) and sadly that has taken hold in the minds of many.
If you listen to the phone-in radio shows there is a swathe of people who fervently believe that the country is run by the EU, they don't want to live under their rules but can't name any rules they object to! It's fascinating hearing these brainwashed people struggling to find a specific example to object to.
As for your local MP, he probably came under extreme pressure to conform to Johnson's lies rather than oppose them, he probably realised he was about the only one swimming against the current of the hard core Brexit cabal running the country and gave up.

Good to see the 5th column collective out in force this morning peddling the usual nonsense.

Meanwhile, it's time for another entry in my Project Fear proved wrong collection ...

Yeah, I haven't forgotten. But that applies to the country as a whole - I was replying to TB's post about Cornwall.

Oh, and "he" was a "she", but otherwise I'm sure you're right!

BTW, many of the Brexit bus photos you see were taken in our town centre. Here's Boris (with a woman who wasn't our MP):

Wow! It's going to be great. Do you realise how offensive the term 5th column is? If not then you need to do some research. If yes, then you really do confirm that you are indeed what some us have been saying (or thinking) for some while.

A strange time it is where fear and concern for our country's future can be cast as being " 5th Columnist "? The people raising the alarm are not destroying the country, its those IN power that are doing that.

Tbf it is offensive and totally agree, I found being called a “Brexit Jihadi” equally offensive too, I think it’s time we all calm down [emoji106]

Hugely surprised you didn't read about this positive news in the Guardian.

Group of people who try to undermine a country from within spreading disinformation ... spot on.

People who knowingly do the country harm are called traitors.
Will a no deal Brexit hurt the country?
