.... I think we are the only country in Europe that has a licence fee, and also one of the most expensive. ….

So how does that work? If we are the only country in Europe then we are definitely the most expensive.....

...and the cheapest.

Yes, nobody is holding this government to account.
Where is the Russia report? Where is the Acuri enquiry?
And, how do we have frictionless trade with the EU without matching standards and agreeing to EU regulations?

Gods country fortnightly
A simple acknowledgment that you posted the link without fully reading the article would have sufficed.

Face reality Brits will be at a disadvantage in future, we've made ourselves second class citizens..

People should have the choice, and shouldn't be forced to buy a licence. I probably only watch about 3-4 programmes on the BBC these days. BBC need to go subscription. I think we are the only country in Europe that has a licence fee, and also one of the most expensive. May be someone could confirm?

You do have a choice, you are not forced to buy a licence. Don't buy a licence and just watch Prime Youtube, Netflix, DVDs/Blurays and Non-BBC like ITV Player, Channel 4 on-demand, as long as it's not live

If we are the only country if Europe that has a licence fee, then we are the most expensive and, by definition, also the cheapest :facepalm:

I could certainly confirm one thing from your post but I really don't think you would like to know what it is. You really don't help yourself, do you :shootself

They have, you only need one to watch Live TV.

I think we are the only country in Europe that has a licence fee.

Wrong

and also one of the most expensive

Wrong

( how it can be the most expensive if you think it's the only one? )

If you compare the countries that have a dedicated fee the UK is 4th (half that of Austria) but that doesn't show the full picture.

Where the licence fee has been abolished many countries now fund the broadcasters through general taxation.

So you end up paying for TV even if you don't own one which isn't the case in the UK.

I suspect the BBC will end up with a mix of subscription for certain services and beef up it's commercial side. I doubt however that even this Government would want to see the end of public service broadcasting and there will still some form of licence fee or tax to pay for it.

Think, act, believe, become.

I have no intention of joining you in that wish.

I think I'm a Millionaire
I act like I'm a Millionaire
I believe I'm a Millionaire
...I'm not a Millionaire.

Genuinely interested how you 'act like a millionaire'. Why did you think you were, if you weren't?

All that's doing is further proving my point.

And still the scare stories continue. Some people !!!! . Let it go ffs

Let it go? We're not even allowed to talk about No Deal now. It is to be called a non negotiated settlement.

You do realise we are still headed for No Deal at the end of the transition period in December?

There is some irony (maybe even outright hypocrisy) in 40 odd years of moaning and telling scare story after scare story about the EU, that after only 4 years from the vote to leave, and only 7 days passed leaving, you have the audacity to say let it go. :stupid::lolol:

Little joke from Denmark, reported in Times yesterday.

1st fisherman: "I caught an English shrimp today."
2nd fisherman: "How do you know it was English?"
1st fisherman: "Because it said it was a lobster."

From America, it has been revealed that for many years senior White House officials amused themselves by competing with each other to see how soon and how often they could insert the words "Special Relationship" into any speech the President made about the UK.

And so the world laughs. Never mind, Dim Dom will put them right.
