But that would happen even if Corbyn didn't agree to meet May. There's no logic is the argument that it was a trap and it would harm him to take the meeting.

It was not a trap. Corbyn and his closest advisors haven’t said that. They’re sharp politicians, if they don’t like what’s on offer, they simply walk away and say why.

Only a few Remain shit stirrers in the Labour Party such as Beckett, Toynbee and Campbell, with zero inside knowledge, said it was. Three hypocrites who’ve spent 4 years attempting to destroy Corbyn and his brand of non-Blairite socialism.

West is BEST
Any country that is in theory, obliged to adopt the Euro has to meet a very specific set of criteria to ensure that a conversion will benefit their economy. Which is a moot point as we will never be among those countries.

Jesus Christ, ok, AGAIN: because you turn your nose up at anyone you deem to be "lesser" than yourself. You mock peoples intelligence and scoff at anyone who dares to correct you and point out the real world to you. Those are displays of privileged ignorance.

I only mock you Plooks and I do so because you blame everyone else for your situation other than yourself. You have a hatred of the older generations and of homeowners. You blame the education system for your lack of success yet the same system has turned out thousands of successful people. You constantly show the the politics of envy. Every problem is because of someone else not you ..... you won't even admit you take actions that are against the environment. In short you're a selfish tw@t.

So it turns out Theresa May's version of compromise is:
Invite opposition to talks.
Listen to opposition concerns and demands.
Refuse to change anything.
Meeting adjourned.

Apparently the Brexit talks have broken down between the Government and Labour because Theresa May refused to make any changes to the political declaration.

Plus ca change.
*No deal* in 7 days time, with the collapse of the UK a few days later.

My guess is that they'll roll the army onto the streets as soon as the EU refuse the extension that they declined last time, and offer a longer one which May will refuse.

Well done, Vladimir - Total victory, textbook hybrid war operation. The sanctions we'll impose on ourselves will destroy us.

And ManOfSussex, don't forget.

I'm no longer a member of the Labour Party though - haven't been for years. Lot of stigma these days about though for those that are - nearly as bad as for those who were naive enough to be sold a pup in 2016 and vote leave.

Make the most of your 10 or so days of blissful blindness.

The oncoming *no deal* storm will hit us all the same - except of course those with large hedge funds based overseas.

We can veto any UK Government trying to sign up to anything that is an addition to the treaties, I mean you and me, in a referendum, or at least we could have until the act was repealed by the withdrawal act. If we revoke article 50 and remain, and we revoke the withdrawal act, the European Union Act 2011 will come back into force, and that act prevents a UK Government signing us up for anything with the EU unless we say so.

Just like the people of France and the Netherlands voted against the EU Constitution and ended up with the EU constitution 2.0. As we discussed before, triggering that veto is at the discretion/interpretation of UK governments and the law can be changed at any time. After the recent experience, it's not too hard to see how a future Uk government that was pro EU membership wouldn't want to go anywhere near a referendum ever again. As you know ever closer political union is mainly achieved by a gradual descent into the quicksand carefully avoiding any specific electoral mandate. The idea that the Uk electorate has a veto in preventing any further UK integration into the EU is total bollox.

So after finally achieving your aim of regaining total parliamentary sovereignty, you wouldn't trust them as far as you can throw them - I think I see where you're coming from
