What on Earth are you equally blithering on about? Why shouldn’t Scotland have self autonomy? Wales? N.Ireland? Why does the break up of the UK, a Union so antiquated now it serves no purpose, translate into (only) England becoming backward and cut off? Why hasn’t this happened to all the other states in Europe? France seems to do ok as do smaller countries like Denmark and they’ve comparable populations to England and Scotland.

What a very odd opening sentence.

It really is daft isn’t it.

I see what you’ve done. Indulge me.... I was chatting with Clapham re: the Act of UNION > LLNotsocoolJ jumps in, grabs the controls so’s to speak before (and heres the important bit) taking a WRONG turn (I.e. thinks we’re discussing the E UNION) > picks you and couple of others up along the way > you all arrive, protesting, together. Only you’ve forgotten to check your map. The protest is in Düsseldorf. And you just landed in Edinburgh. Someone say daft...? :)

You keep telling yourself that sweet cheeks. I'm sure it makes you feel better.

Meanwhile, everyone else is shaking their heads at the absolute idiocy of what you wrote.

"No idea what my post had to do with mind...."

Me neither. Whatever you use to think can hardly be described as a mind, based on the divisive, nationalistic, backward thinking nonsense that you posted.

Not understanding my analogies just proves the point.

You’re ranting at me after you’ve mis read / understood an earlier post and effectively had an argument with yourself. Now you’re compounding your misplaced rant by projecting false assertions and adding some insults for good measure. You’re like one of those knuckleheads who mishears someone and starts a fight in a pub before being dragged away by his mates to be told he got it all wrong but STILL insists he heard right ‘cause it’s all about keepin the face, innit? To summarise, best you call it a night son for all our sakes.

Try reading your signature...! I mean, really, what sort of **** chooses that on a football forum? Any for that matter.

Oh dear, I think somebody is up a little past their bedtime and has got all grumpy chops! I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that’s the issue and not that you’re a gobby idiot.
Now, up those stairs and lights out please. No reading, you have nursery in the morning.

And that old put down, ladies and gents, is all he’s got to come back with!

But what’s really funny is that I’m already in bed...

I see that Tusk is proposing a 'flextension' of up to a year to allow the UK to get itself sorted. That's plenty of road for May to kick the can down - she's got virtually a motorway. But I reckon Mark Francois is going to explode at that news.

BTW, I think Tusk is played a blinder in these negotiations. He's been tirelessly looking for answers to help the UK out, while maintaining the EU's integrity. He's been pragmatic throughout and displayed a good sense of humour too. I wish we had a few politicians of his calibre,

For a non flexible organisation they are proving to be fair more flexible than the UK.

I agree that the EU have approached every aspect of this like a mature, responsible group of experienced politicians.

But to be honest, it hasn't exactly been challenging for them. The vast majority of the time they have spent as bemused bystanders while this whole sorry farce has winded it's way to it's expected and totally predictable conclusion. That there are only two implementable options and neither of them include unicorns galloping freely over rolling green pastures

The problem is that people forget why these unions were forged in the first place. To prevent Europe going to war again. We tear these unions down at great risk.

And there was a case for that in the 1950's as there was a case for the common market in the 1970s when trade barriers and paper admin were hampering trade. This is 2019, there is no way on God's earth that France or Germany will go to war with us, besides we are now members of NATO and article 5 states that any attack on a member state will warrant an attack on the aggressor by all other NATO members..... So this whole argument about stopping war in Europe, was right 70 years ago but is now obsolete

As the Corbyn/May talks unsurprisingly appear to be petering out to nothing, short of a rabbit being pulled out of a hat, we're going to need it, Grybauskaite, Michel, Macron and Bettel permitting.

I simply wish Tusk would get knighted.
