Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
In the meantime, this racist government has a specially chartered plane taking 50 Windrush generation children to the West Indies, where they have maybe only lived for four or five years of their entire lives.

Shameful, and started by Theresa May in the Home Office.

Brexit blues for investors in eurozone

Investor morale in the eurozone has hit a four-year low, driven down by fears about Brexit and weaker global growth.

The Sentix index, which monitors investor sentiment in the single currency bloc, dropped to -3.7 this month, from -1.5 in January. The sixth consecutive monthly fall leaves it at its lowest level since November 2014....

A separate index on investor morale in Germany fell from 6.1 to 3.1, the fourth consecutive decline, hitting its lowest level since August 2012.

“The German economy, which has been the economic locomotive of the eurozone in recent years, is losing more steam,” Mr Hübner said. The German export model was coming under pressure both from Brexit and problems that the car industry is facing in China, he said.

Perhaps those German exporters and car manufacturers should get on the phone to Brussels, start applying some pressure ...

Nope, no deflection from your initial misrepresentation and i know you said people would be incandescent if their democratic vote was ignored, because that is what you said.
Thanks for playing as ever.

I referred specifically to a particular group of people but no matter. As long as you've convinced yourself.

Civil Contingencies Act if we leave with *no deal*.

Anti-Terrorism Act measures, further, possibly terminal break in trust with politicians and our democratic system, a huge boost to extremist parties groups if we bin brexit.

Nice choice, but the bottom one is far worse.

Corrected for accuracy.

Lorries etc are stopped now. They check for people and illegal goods such as arms. They don't bother dealing with tariff paperwork as there isn't any for goods coming from the EU. The idea that they will suddenly stop using things like their body heat seeking technology is ridiculous - they will carry on as now as to avoid the delays of having to check goods for tariff purposes. Next you'll be suggesting lorry drivers won't have to show their passports because they'll just "wave them through"

Let's revisit the article in question, shall we? Here is the very first line.

"GOODS shipped to Britain from the EU are to be waved through 20 UK ports without checks in a No Deal to avoid huge jams – HMRC has declared."

Without checks. It explicitly says it right there. So we are back to how you check goods which aren't being checked. Schroedingers checks?

Good old Tories eh?

Last April she was subjected to a routine DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check by her employers, Lewisham Council.

She holds a US passport from her time in care stating she was granted leave to remain in a previous passport, and the BBC has seen documents in her care files which prove she has been known to her local authority since at least the age of seven.

Nevertheless, the council said this was not enough evidence.

"They accused me and my mum of being illegal immigrants and said I'd forged my passport," she said.

"I was a child and feel like I've been put on trial for something I couldn't control."

Ms Sims lost her right to work, access to healthcare and benefits. She is now thousands of pounds in debt and relying on food banks, despite 20 years' experience in social care and as a primary school teaching assistant.

Attorney general's also advise that Governments can legally invade middle eastern countries or trigger article 50 without a parliamentary vote … doesn't mean they are always morally or legally correct. Excuse me if I don't take arch remainer Dominic Grieve's vue as impartial. Sir Keir Starmer doesn't seem to be aware of his own Leader's opposition to having a backstop with no unilateral exit or Labour party policy that any back stop must be acceptable to both communities in Northern Ireland. Speaking of which, the whole foundation of the GFA is based on both sides accepting it yet you and others want to follow a policy where the Unionist side strongly object to any situation where they are separated/ treated differently from the rest of the UK. Hardly surprising that Sinn Fein along with the Irish government don't have a problem with barriers going up between Northern Ireland and the UK is it.

For Brexiteer oddball see Architect of GFA and Nobel peace prize winner. As you know both Brexiteers and many remainers inside and outside parliament have entirely legitimate issues with the backstop as does your preferred PM the Leader of the Labour party. Suggesting that they all want to rip up the GFA or dismissing them as oddballs or English ***** is quite frankly ridiculous

Oh dear - The Footy Genius has got Irish backstop pie all over his shirt. You post up an article written in The Daily Telegraph by an oddball, English, former Vote Leave staff member, that you didn't understand any of, have been comprehensively owned as a result, and yet you continue with your strawclutching, whataboutery desperation with the backstop. I'm not surprised though with how reneging on it is going down in Washington and other western capitals. It must be very chastening for you. Funny how not one Attorney General or equivalent in any European capital, let alone Washington, doesn't complain about these erroneous legal niceties of the backstop and think it breaches The Good Friday Agreement as a result - It's just Brexit backing oddballs.

The sooner you become a lifelong Irish unification after-timer, the better it'll be for you.

It's not difficult to own you these days. It's so easy for everyone, it's almost cruel.

You're right about it being the Irish line though - the majority of people in Northern Ireland support the backstop, as well as in The Republic of Ireland and their views are of paramount importance. You're starting to learn the importance of it, so well done.

Delusional/wishful thinking.

Polls come and go the fact is the unionist parties don't support it and a majority in the UK parliament agree which is of paramount importance to getting a deal. Peddling an Irish nationalist agenda won't change that.
