Has anyone yet come up with an analogy about Brexit that is relevant and makes sense? My favourite is that rubbish 'leaving a nightclub' analogy. So full of holes it could be a colander.

Sompting
John Mann and Dennis “the Beast” Skinner, both of whom represent working class Labour heartlands,
became the party's eighth and ninth MPs to campaign for an Out vote on 23 June.

Bassetlaw MP Mr Mann said the EU was “fundamentally broken” and leaving was the only way to reduce the impact of migration on public services. He added: “The reason I’ve concluded that we have to come out is it’s impossible to change the EU from the inside.”

“They are going to get a big shock about how Labour councillors vote, they will get a big shock
about how Labour members vote. And it shouldn’t come as a shock how many Labour voters will vote,”
he said.

Bolsover MP Mr Skinner meanwhile argued the UK would better fight capitalism outside the bloc. He told the Morning Star: “My opposition from the very beginning has been on the lines that fighting capitalism state-by-state is hard enough. It’s even harder when you’re fighting it on the basis of eight states, 10 states and now 28.

“In the old days they could argue you might get a socialist government in Germany, but there’s not been one for donkeys’ years.

I feel the PLP (Parliamentary Labour Party) have made a GRAVE miscalculation in the mood of the nation…

Type in to google Us Military report EW-Pa 128 also known as the Red House Report.
The quote attributed to Goering came 22nd June 1940
Interesting reading.

Let's make this clear. You present this as supporting evidence for Soulman's claim that Hermann Goering thought up the name European Economic Community and that the EU is some sort of reprise for the Third Reich. I am not surprised that he offered you a thumbs up for your support.

'US Military Report EW-PA 128', whatever its veracity, makes no mention I can see (I may be wrong) of the Nazi-inspired conspiracy Soulman was bandying about. The Red House Report appears to come from Truth 11, a truly batty organisation whose reports include:

Psychopaths are about to take over the world
9/11 was an inside job (this Russian report is really important apparently)
Proof that UFOs exist

There's loads more where these come from including, of course, the 'Nazis inspired the wicked EU' material being propagated on this thread. It makes you wonder about some of the other stuff being pushed by the Brexit side comes from.

No I don't. Soulman made a claim. I did not say I support it. Is that clear?

You hear this sort of nonsense all the time, its ridiculous scare tactics that unfortunately seems to work on some people.

I listened to Jacob William Rees-Mogg speak on the issue of workers rights and consumer rights a while ago.(some people might not like the bloke but nearly everyone agrees he is one of the best authorities on how our parliament does and should operate in accordance with law and statutes).

(Paraphrasing) he was saying things like consumer rights and workers rights that have come from Brussels are now enshrined in UK law, leaving the EU changes nothing, these rights would still apply on June 24th.
Some UK laws he pointed out use EU law as a minimum benchmark and exceed what is required. It would take a physical act and parliamentary process to repeal or amend each piece of legislation. Saying we would lose these rights is not true.

The thing is it would be our elected officials determining if laws should be repealed, amended or left alone,im sure they are perfectly capable of doing this without interference from Brussels.

I'm going from memory but I believe Jacob Rees-Mogg, a very determined and often entertaining Brexiter, was one of the signatories to the Tyrie report that singled out the Leave side's £350m a week claim as being just about the worst example of inaccurate spin in this whole referendum campaign, worse even than Osborne's £4300 stuff (which I didn't much like either).

This always gets me when they think labour supporters will naturally vote to remain. It was that Labour party that opened the floodgates to immigration. Flooding the jobs market with cheap labour therefore selling their hard-core vote down the river. So just why would they be guaranteed to vote remain.

And I didn't say you supported it.

You simply said it was an interesting read. I guess you're right in a way.

Yep it was/is interesting. However one thing in those documents (produced by dubious sources or not) that was true and is well documented is the involvement of some of Germany's most successful companies building their wealth from a very cheap labour force. Just like a lot of UK companies do now but, they at least have to pay the minimum wage. I do not really want to harp back 70 years particularly as most of it is irrelevant in the economic argument of today. However the assertion that big companies gained massively in Germany that are active today is true.
