I'm sorry but you can not be serious about Merkel surely:eek:

You consider this bitch not to be a threat yet this is a lady who deliberately invited the whole of Syria in to Europe yet knowing full well that most would head for Germany and bring with them some ever lasting consequences.. the bitch done this simply because she has a loathing of her own people. a seething kind of guilt. the women seriously needs to see a shrink.
Anyone capable of committing such madness in my books isn't just a threat to society they need stringing up as well...

What ever the arguments here today, or even in the next decade or two one thing is sure. Merkel will go down with the Kaiser and Hitler as yet another German who fu*ked Europe. Make no mistake Germany and her rulers have buggered up for over 120years or more. They even passed a motion that the Armenian 'episode' was indeed genocide. In effect blaming themselves for yet another crime as they were in partnership with the Ottoman Empire at the time. Strange country, always getting involved and yet failing every time except in their own economy.

There is a lot that isn't, there is no chance of Scotland exiting, they couldn't do it when they had oil prices In their favour and sterling. So that's a prediction that will not come to pass.

The point about the future though is interesting, whilst there is no relatable economic precedent for Outers to point to for guaranteed prosperity, it is absurd for remainers to point to the EU as an economic success.

The euro is an partially constructed disaster that has caused immense hardship for millions of EU citizens, which has caused millions to migrate from these parts of the EU to seek work.

The ECB is on a programme of QE of 80bn euro pm and has negative interest rates.

These are not signs of a positive EU economy and that is before we need to address the problems with how to fix the euro. Further, there is no indication that this will be acceptable to those electorates that will give up fiscal sovereignty, including Germany.

The future is unknown............there is no certainty, however if you take the euro crisis as an example, would we be better in or out?

But the point is the UK is an economic success in the EU. 44% of our trade is with the EU and 56% with non EU but if we leave and we are not able to negotiate access to continue the level of trade with the EU then will the rest of the world pick up the slack so we don't take an economic hit that's the $64,000 question. For me the leavers are unable to demonstrate that. Why would we want to jeopardise our undoubted economic prosperity is quite frankly beyond me! That's where the leavers arguments fall down for me. However, maybe that's what they want an economic hit to our prosperity to make us less attractive to people wanting to come here that's probably the only way that they will control immigration! But its not "they" that will suffer but the ordinary person in the street that will take the hit!

Shock horror. EU nations say they will compete against the UK if it leaves the EU. Hold the front page.

There is no shock on the side of people who know how the EU works and they mostly want to get out. Your like HT, sniping and so dreadfully disparaging of this proud nation.

You Brexiters make me laugh. If the boot was on the other foot we would do exactly the same.

I'm far from disparaging of our lovely nation. Unlike the leave campaigners I'm not prepared to sell it down the river on an argument that is just puffed up on emotion.

I look at all the arguments and ask myself what would I do on balance.

Remain.

his wife must be more concerned now as well about a brexit.
her poor dad might lose the few hundred thousand quid he gets from the EU to help run the family estate/farm

vested interests?........what vested interests?

How will this pig f*cker get on with Farage, he's already bottled the head to head debate. the blokes a complete jibbering wreck.

yes, as they do today. was there a misapprehension that the members of the EU are under some sort of no-compete agreement?

Yes , Junkers and the EU have been making all kinds of threats to scare us.

Do they hate us that much, or just shit scared of what they'll be left with if we leave? ???

I guess they'd like us to stay, but if we leave it's gloves off. We'd be doing the same.

Always better when we all work together don't you think?

So you think if Scotland voted to leave the UK we'd grind them into the dirt? You think that's what we are do you?

Nope, but you lot get very jumpy at the idea of Jonny Foreigner competing with us outside of the EU. Perhaps it's a good idea to have some sort of agreement on how we might work together. Like some sort of Union. Just for European nations that is.

That's precisely the language that was used during the referendum. Were you out of the country? [emoji3]

I'm asking you if you think that's what we are? If beyond the bollocks that's what we'd actually do?

Yep, that's exactly what we'd do. We'd become a small trading bloc of one and we'd have to fight on multiple fronts. Had you not realized that?

Ha ha ha!

Yeah, I bet you'd have hung Sir Walter Raleigh for suggesting that we might go and trade with the rest of the world.

We've become a nation of little Englanders. Some of our great entrepreneurs and explorers - the ones that actually built the nation you are all so proud of - they'd be ashamed of Leave campaigners.

Get a grip and connect with the modern world in a modern way.

Ey? So are you talking from Scotland's point of view now or just repeating the same tosh about the UK leaving the EU?

if you and I did business together but you decided it would be better for your business to trade wider afield, but I told you I'd **** you up if you left me, would you just capitulate?

I've realized that this thread has just become some sad late night meeting place for about a dozen of the same old posters. Do you all just rant at each other?

As do the leavers who believe in this country's ability to make a living governing ourselves, and being the ultimate arbiter and law maker in our own home nation.

Well, if you think that this country having to institute a programme of QE, massive austerity and borrowing billions of pounds per year through Govt debt stock are indicative of economic success then no wonder you are voting remain.

Can you honestly justify why taxpayers in this country should service debt so that we can give it to the EU so they can spend it in other countries.

We are in a small select group of countries that pay more money in than we get back, for the countries that benefit with British taxpayers money the EU must be brilliant.

So, as ever the poor in this country lose out on that money to benefit corpulent farmers elsewhere in Europe..........unjustifiable.
