I was answering a post to someone else on the overstretched and unsustainable work levels of The NHS with their current staffing complement, whether they've risen since 2010 or not, and gave a direct example of one sector that I assist in a voluntary support group capacity again, having done so in the past - AKA the real world.

I'm afraid I wasn't referring to London or a flu Armageddon with my reply, let alone did I pull a diagram off the internet that doesn't show or mention rising patient numbers and demand since 2010 or falling targets and appears to be from January of this year anyway, not today as the report I mentioned earlier was. I took the post and the phrase 'capital' to mean 'NHS capital funding' rather than 'London'. Hope that clarifies things for you.

Yes, I blame other factors too, because recruitment and retention of all staff in The NHS has become a serious issue, but Brexit is a factor in this, as people in The NHS are saying themselves, as recruitment and retention of staff from overseas, particularly The EU, has fallen since June of last year and the future uncertain status of living and working in The UK is not helping to address this across The NHS, not just within The SPFT.

I am really enjoying this new "It has nothing to do with Brexit" argument. This crackpot obsession that every ill can be blamed on a combination of immigration and the EU, has dominated the government and media agenda for the last decade. Just maybe a government with a more balanced agenda might have made some progress in this area? Ten years on the only difference is that remoaners and their complete lack of blind faith are now also to blame for our continued sufferance of straight bananas.

Meanwhile it looks like we are negotiating our way to buying £53million worth of sovereignty. I am assuming this will be sold off in an eighties style British Gas extravaganza and those lucky enough to get a share will be able to make a killing in the medium term. We only need two or three more countries to leave the EU and their will be a major shortage of sovereignty being traded on the open market, forcing the price right up.
