Not sure what is funny about trying to reduce these shocking foreign national prison statistics but what we should do is expand the current system. The Criminal Record Certificate that non EU nationals are required to provide for some Tier 1 visas should be expanded to some other categories as well.
This would go some way to identifying the bad people that fergus is referring to (the ones with previous anyway).

Our authorities should have the right for these Criminal Record Certificate checks to be expanded also onto the equivalent EU nationals also, but as you know we don’t control our borders when it comes to EU nationals, so we cant do that.

A vote to leave of course would enable us to have a controlled points based Tier system applicable to everyone with no discrimination between EU or Non EU nationals. It’s the safer better securer option.

Fully agree with this post. If you are a resident in this country checks on you can and will be made. You may not get a job if you have a thief record but the local cab company will employ a convicted rapist to drive because they can't check him if he arrives here. Go figure. A car thief can't get work but a rapist may drive your daughter home from the night club. Fantastic

In fairness, there is no attempt to pretend that the questions are not established beforehand - DD says "The next question is from (name)" before each one is asked. He, and more importantly the man with the mic, need to know where each questioner is sitting to ensure smooth running. The audience is asked to submit questions beforehand and the producer selects them to create a balanced programme. It would be chaotic otherwise.

Chaotic for whom? Viewers, panel, dim D or production/directors, camera/sound? If it's chaotic for the panel then good. No preparation means no pre thinking your response!
I however can see that it would create a program that may become fractured.
