Absolute shitstorm for me and my family. Had to fight for months to move home from Sweden. Solicitors, tribunal and months of uncertainty just to move home with my wife who previously lived and worked here. I sat in a skype call with a f***ing JUDGE.

But on the bright side now that we made it back at least we've got all of that other benefit to enjoy. Those blue passports are sexy as f***.

I obviously want the UK to rejoin but the fall out and squabbling and fighting which would erupt if any party dared to do it would be horrendous, it would rip the county apart again and would totally dominate politics and the economy for another lengthy period.

You made your bed, sadly I think you need to lie in it a bit longer.

Might be the fist time I’ve disagreed with you for an age.

We need to rip the plaster off and get back to the EU.

In the meantime I’ll gladly take delivery of my Irish passport and go elsewhere.

My brother in law and his wife voted Brexit. They now want to apply for Irish passports (through her relatives) so they can move to Spain because it's now too difficult with the paperwork.

Mrs G and myself both hope they get refused.
What relatives does she have that are Irish?

I’d like to go back to the EU, as there were zero problems before, life was so easy and inexpensive and still is in mainland Europe. It’s only here that these problems exist. Plus, everyone knows Brexit caused the pandemic, the death of the monarch and wars in both Ukraine and the Middle East. Oh, and climate change. Nearly forgot that too. So why the politicians are still fanning about and haven’t returned us to the EU I really don’t know, given all these problems will be reversed: am looking forward to seeing Liz back on the throne the most.

Its gone as badly as many feared it would (including me). Thankfully I have an EU passport (Irish), so I still have the freedom of movement.

I didn't bother to renew my British passport when it expired last year because a) it is fairly useless and b) I don't really feel British anymore.
I’ve never understood people who use passports depending on what serves them best. A close friend of mine has 4, it’s like he’s on the run or something. Stick to your country. Be proud of who you are. Don’t be an international half and half scarf-er, it’s like you can’t be trusted! English and proud: since 1066 ;)

Clearly you don’t understand.

Freedom of movement is a massive bonus.

I am able to have it and I’m going to.

I do get it really, but it is a bit shape shifty almost something untrustworthy about it ie I love this country…oh, hang on a sec, I love that country more…oh, er, hold on, I’m not sure…winner stays on perhaps? :)

The point is England isn't my country, so I'm not sticking to it.

A choice between England and the freedom of movement offered by EU citizenship doesn't take me longer than a nanosecond to choose from.

Is it?

Don’t see it myself.

You’d like some sort of “nobody gets in, nobody gets out” scenario?

Frankly, that sounds Hellish.

A bunch of dumbos voted for us to lose freedom of movement. I found a way to get it back for myself.

I did half my growing up in Belfast so I don’t see it as “untrustworthy”.

Not really sure I’m bothered if you trust me or not though.

Besides which, why cut off my nose to spite my face. That’s what we have Brexiteers for 👍

Just live buddy. That's what I say. You don't get long. And if picking up a few passports opens up more windows to the world then the more the merrier.

I love England, although probably Sussex more. Patriotism is so overrated. I was scrambling around after Brexit to see if I could get a European passport and the only one I probably qualify for is.... Nigeria.

Not much use that.

Which is fair enough….. unless you once did and change sides depending on which way the winds blowing…? ;)
