Booing at the final whistle yesterday

Unneccesary, unhelpful and uncalled for.

The players gave everything yesterday. Frutos was outstanding and so was Carole. But on the whole, they all worked hard.

Yes, McGhee made 2 massive tactical errors in pitchng Mayo against McSheffrey and subbing CKR who looked the only player capable of getting a goal - but we all make mistakes.

However, the point is, we were very unlucky. We had 17 goal attempts to Coventry's 5, the players worked really hard and we were the better side throughout and played attractive, attacking football.

Too boo a perfomance like that at the end is an absolute disgrace and an insult to the players. How these people who participated can call themselves true supporters is beyond me.

This has been mentioned on an earlier thread but I disagree perhaps it is time for the players to realise how they are letting us down, if they dont already. As peple say the directors, coaching staff and players are here doing a job and getting well paid for it, and will move on, the only ones for life are us the supoorters.

Of course supporters are entitled to voice their concern, but it does not help in any way. The players PUT IN THE EFFORT yesterday and were unlucky. All we can ask is that they give 100% to the cause. Yesterday they did and did not get what they deserved.

If you want to move on to another club BG there are plenty of us willing to drive you there just to be rid of your incessant carping, whining and criticism.

Perhaps if you said something constructive for a change you might get more sympathy.

I don't think anyone was outstanding yesterday. It was a sea of mediocrity. I don't tend to boo, and didn't yesterday, but I think people are quite entitled to if they don't think the players did enough.

They did get what they deserved to be BEATEN. We were second in every department and made to look good by the fact that Coventry sat back on the lead knowing that we would never score two goals so the minimum they would have got is a replay and more money.

If we were still playing now we wouldnt have scored a goal by now.

I'm with you Butterball. It was a good performance marred by poor finishing. But that does not warrant booing. If we'd played like Millwall did first half last week, then I could understand it, but the lads (McCammon excepted) seemed to want it yesterday.

Fantastic how you can think that was the players 'giving everything'. Was it your first game? Lobbing the ball forward for 20 minutes in the second half, I think is what you must be referring too!

How many consecutive games do the tactical blunders have to be discussed. I particularly enjoyed the Reid for El-Abd yesterday, can't understand how we didn't push on to glory from that one.

Good man. I was wondering from some of the comments if I had gone to a different game in error! :lolol:

Actually, I've been going for best part of 21 years since I was a kid.

So brilliant wing play is 'lobbing the ball forward'?

We put in crosses from the wings and corners on a number of occasions but did not have a player to get on the end of them, simple as that.

How can you say it was a sea of mediocrity? We totally outplayed them and Cov will have gone home thanking their lucky stars we didn't score six.

I have been a supporter for many a year and have views both good and bad unfortunately over the past few months the bad has outwieghed the good. I am not another Large One or London Irish, or possibly El Presiente who has to lick the clubs arse and agree with everything that they do.

In September I thought that we were moving in the right direction and with the news due for Falmer the picture looked rosy witha probable safe mid table position.

Alas that was not to be:

We got a yes for Falmer and then LDC f....d us up not the clubs fault I know. Because of this a Russian possibly put his money into Pompey that was, according to some ,earmarked for either us or Pompey. LDC tipped the scales against us.

The manager of the team and his coaching staff apear to have lost the plot and what appeared to be a promising season has deteriated into a shambles on the field both player wise and tactically. The transfer window, our saviour, has opened and we are left in the trail of other clubs who are making signings. The reason given as always is lack of finance, that is not my fault I give all that I can. Despite denials I am reliably informed (by a player) that the team spirit in the dressing room is not as good as it was, for whatever reason.

When there is something positive to say and speak about I will be at the front of the queue to say it and offer praise where deserved, but until then I am afraid it is doom and gloom.

'brilliant wing play'

Yes. I was in R block and had the pleasure of watching Frutos absolutely skinning their defence for virtually the entire second half. Carole came close when he took the ball down, wrongfooted the defence and curled a shot over the bar by inches - to use an old cliche - worth the entracnce fee alone, sublime skill. The wing play was first class.

We simply did not have a player to finish.

When we were pressing for an equaliser, it was all us. We were the ones dominating play, just we was playing well but couldn't finish.

All I was trying to do was keep the tempo going for the team as we looked like we would get a goal.

Tell you what, I'm bloody glad that Russian didn't stick his dirty money into the Albion. Pompey, I believe, are f***ed now. ALL (but don't quote me!) of the businesses that this Russian bloke has owned have folded through financial mismanagement. His dad's a crook, and has buried his Angolan arms money into his son's latest venture, Pompey.
