Not gambling with mine. First home league game I haven't attended in 8 years because I refuse to pay £40+ for a ticket.

Money well saved.

Actually it was a good game. You were sorely missed!

The issue for the club will be it will be hard to sell the 4000 plus extra seats, of the 23000 monthly sth's maybe only 20000 will turn up and if the away team don't bring many we will be getting 21000 but the gate will never be declared below 24000, we all know there was not 26000 plus people there yesterday.

Of course they will, but anyone who jacks in their season ticket or wets the bed after one home league defeat is a 'Grade A' Bellend.

Of the 23000 some of them will lose interest as there are a few jcl's and gloryseekers, I guess most of them renewed expecting a serious promotion push this season.

Pork pie land.
Because instead of just sacking Gus for trying to leave before his contract was up they did the correct legal thing as laid down in company law. I would say while the timing was bad they actually showed a great example of how things should be done across the industry like any other business.

!00% This. For Christ same, why don't some of you just get over Poison Poyet, and give the guy a chance. The time to look at "his" team seriously will be a few weeks after the Transfer Window closes. Look at last year's start, and how things ended. Look as the previous season's start and the freefall at the end of that. Early days, and these adverse comments about Tony Bloom are simply pathetic.

yep, good post - agree entirely -

the time to look at his team may well extend to beyond October/November IMO

This. Football is a results buisness. 3 games, 3 defeats, with a squad that finished 4 last season is poor.

Football is a results business over 46 league games in the Championship, lose the first 2 and it doesn't mean we will have a season of struggle and battling to avoid relegation and equally winning the first 2 doesn't mean running away with the division and going up as champions

PS - When did we re-sign Bridge, Vicente, Hammond and others? And why didn't Agustein, Andrews, Ince, Chicksen, etc play more last season? - give them a chance to settle in and work up an understanding with their new team mates.

How can they enforce a £50 cancellation fee??? That's criminal, if ever I was to cancel my season ticket I would just instruct my bank to stop the direct debit. Charging someone £50 because they decide they don't want to go anymore for whatever reason is a disgrace, when all it takes from the club is a push of button.

How on earth is it criminal? It is like any other service I pay monthly for, e.g. insurance, or my mobile phone contract - you agree to a service over a period of time, and break down the costs of that service into regular payments. You agree to a season ticket, and should pay for that. I can't just cancel my car insurance, I would have to pay it up. The direct debit scheme is brilliant and makes it affordable for many people, and if people abuse it by just cancelling the direct debit without informing the club then they are harming the club they supposedly support, and putting the future of the direct debit scheme, which many people enjoy, in jeopardy.

Yeah because they were only buying tickets for the last 2 seasons to see those teams then too

Don't under estimate the Amex factor for the last two season's. The club has been riding a crest of a wave for the last three years and i'm not saying that is about to change. But there are thousands of floating fans out there who will find something better to do on a Saturday afternoon than pay £40 to watch a losing side. That is a fact and before you start having a pop at me, I am not one of them. I travel 35 miles to get to a game and can't even have a drink because I drive. I don't just fall out of bed, straight into the pub and onto the ground, which is what I would love to do. Would make the whole days experience far more pleasure......I think the 8,409 against Newport was the first indication of this. Yes it was a good crowd for a league cup 1st round game against 2nd division opposition. But two years ago the figure was 16,295 against second division opposition....why??? Because the Amex was all new and shiny and people were excited,,,now people expect or at least quite a few thousand of them do.

Genuine question, not fishing at all. But how many people just carried on there season ticket, long before all the crap happened. I didn't like Poyet anyway so I would have carried on regardless but I bet there is not a waiting list next year.

You are suggesting STH's are only supporters when we are winning, the moment we have a bad run they will desert the club? Maybe you mate!

It's basically a months notice, standard practice with phone and TV companies

I cannot see anything wrong in charging £50 to cancel a contract. How much notice which is effectively money do Sky want if you wish to cancel and having made the decision the notice is just the same, something you dont want..

That's right, I've only been going for 34 years and we have never had a bad run in all that time. By all means comment on my views but don't talk rubbish when I've already stated I wouldn't give up mine. Or are you another that reads what they want to read and not whats written???
