He has no choice now after writing he was the boards overwhelming choice. He would look rather silly if this punt does not come off.

Of course he has got a choice. If he thinks he has dropped a bollock, I would expect him act act faster than any of you think. It could be very swift indeed. It takes a bigger/better man to realize he has made a mistake, then it does to stick by it.

Sorry, whose money?

I thought, I paid money to watch matches of football. I didn't realise that my season ticket was comparable to an £120m investment.

Get a f**king grip you idiot. Bloom has got far more to lose than anyone.

Everyone is missing a big point here. The crowd yesterday was just over 26,000. Many more performances like that and it will drop to 23,000 and continue to drop and drop . First game of the season at home should have been a sell out, the events of the summer, ticket prices and lack of any exciting signings made sure it wasn't. People will always vote with their feet, Mr Bloom won't be worried about the hardcore 8,000 they will always go, its the other 18,000 he has got to keep interested or everything will grind to a shuddering halt.

I assume this is one of those "look at me, I am so clever that I can wind people up by talking rubbish" posts. If so then no mate you are not a witty genius, just another one who thinks they are. Leave it to ERNEST, he does it better than you. But if not then er, why should the first game in the second division (sorry championship) be sold out against Derby County, the Goldstone didnt sell out first game of a season and I ask you to name one club other than Leeds that got a bigger crowd for their opening fixture? Great support from Brighton as usual. Just like at Gillingham and Withdean, great support, and biggest crowds in the division as usual despite being at an Athletics track with 6000 seats for the first 3/4 seasons there. As for your 8000 hardcore well I assume you didnt see Brighton play in front of 34000 against Rochdale. Your 8000 hardcore relates to the mid 1980s when Brighton were a club in decline and football hooliganism was rife. A time when Newcastle would get 14,000 and Arsenal between 18000 to 22,000. Bloom has rescued this club, its going places now maybe show some gratitude.

Absolute rubbish.

The club have got the official attendance correct.

There was about 23000 there yesterday.

There was 26000 who paid to be there, that is all that counts, oh and of those that turned up, its still more than Sheffield Wednesday in their crowd of everyone that paid. Stop moaning and rejoice that we have, with Leeds possibly if Leeds fans turn up this year, the best supported club outside the top flight

Probably correct. All season tickets sold go on the gate, so whatever the number of season tickets is the gate will always be above that. You could have an half empty stadium and the att figure would still be over 22,000. I know the Millwall att was way below the official figure given last season.

Genuine question, not fishing at all. But how many people just carried on there season ticket, long before all the crap happened. I didn't like Poyet anyway so I would have carried on regardless but I bet there is not a waiting list next year.

Genuine question but what would it take for you to stop moaning about Brighton being the best supported club outside the top flight (maybe with Leeds if Leeds turn up this season)?

I am not moaning, I am expressing an opinion on what I think will happen if the club end up middle/bottom half of the table. People will vote with their feet and at £40 a pop who can blame them. Money is very tight with a lot of people at the moment.

BHAFC do not have 23000 sth's they have 23000 people who can pull out any month. It is clever as by the time the season starts you have paid 4 months or £ 200 odd and a £ 50 cancellation fee. Still with a programme, couple of drinks and some food you are still looing at well over £ 1000 per annum so the club cannot take it for granted that will carry on forever.

How can they enforce a £50 cancellation fee??? That's criminal, if ever I was to cancel my season ticket I would just instruct my bank to stop the direct debit. Charging someone £50 because they decide they don't want to go anymore for whatever reason is a disgrace, when all it takes from the club is a push of button.

The doom and gloom on this thread is hilarious.

Did we not have the highest gate in the Football League yesterday, by a country mile?

I think what people are trying to say is that the gates will fall if the team are doing badly. I think that's naturally what happens to most sides.
