Oscar is 8/1 2nd fav to win the SBC sack race.

If and I do state IF. Not saying I think we will, but if we lose to Birmingham we then have two big games at home. Burnley and Millwall. That will be six games, if we haven't got more than 4 points on the board that could look a very big price. Because then we are away to Reading and Qpr and then that will be eight games gone...Saying all that a point on Saturday and then two quick home wins and all will look a lot better.

A huge gamble to bring in an unproven english league manager. I give it till December and we carry on like today Garcia will be gone

If Oscar goes then so will a lot of the fans (I hasten to add not the real ones) and we will struggle and tony will have dropped one
but somehow after watching the highlights I don't think that will happen
powder dry on top six or promotion though

That's right, I've only been going for 34 years and we have never had a bad run in all that time. By all means comment on my views but don't talk rubbish when I've already stated I wouldn't give up mine. Or are you another that reads what they want to read and not whats written???

But that is exactly what you were saying other STH's would do was it not?

Facts are facts. Teams win attendances go up. Teams lose attendances go down. There is no mystery or trying to whip up a storm about it. If we are lower half of the table, the real figure of people inside the Amex on a matchday will be 18.000/17,000. If we are in the top 6 playing great stuff it will be full houses. Now every club will have a break even figure and I'm guessing if attendances start dipping below the 22,000 mark the club will start hemorrhageing money. Which would have a knock on effect though out the whole club.

You are suggesting STH's are only supporters when we are winning, the moment we have a bad run they will desert the club? Maybe you mate!

kTR has a point Martyn. The crowds will definitely diminish if were poor week after week. That's just the way it is.

So I was right that IS what you were saying, while you will never desert the club you do expect several thousand STH's to do so if we have a bad run.

But why are we talking about it now for god's sake, it's not even half way through August?

He's just making a a point on what he think may happen if we play poorly for a period of time.... It's a discussion forum.....people can express their opinions if they like..whenever they like

100%...it's not a dig at anyone it's just a fact of life. If we were to finish the season in 17th lets say for example, I predict season ticket sales would go down 20% and those people would pick and choose there games, rather than commit to a full season. However if we were to finish top six playing attacking football, they would stay the same, providing the price didn't massively jump.

It's basically a months notice, standard practice with phone and TV companies

But if you cancel Sky within the first 12 months you have to pay off the remainder left on the contract , I think the same applies to land-line phone contracts too.

Your just a fan number who pays xxxx a month what did you expect.

Thats about it.
Seat booked in WSL in 2011, behind home dugout. Specifically wanted that location. Prepared to pay highest prices in ground ( outside of 1901 )
Now sitting behind away dugout. Spoke to many at game yesterday, sitting nearby. Nearly all had booked their seats to be behind home dugout and all pissed off, disenchanted and some categorically saying they will attend less this season and not renew next season.
Club not interested..." its Oscar's perogative to choose which dugout he wants " The club and most fans regard this as a trivial issue...." tough shit " etc.
How to alienate a group of fans in one easy lesson. Beware biting the hand that feeds you.

Very true. I can't help but think that we would have had a 30k attendance yesterday if the pricing was reasonable.

4,000 tickets not being sold for the first home game of the season is very significant.

Jesus.

We sold 26,000.

Some fans are really deluded. Dropping the prices by 25% won't bring in the 4000 extra. Maybe 750-100 so would end up making less money.

Prices are standard for championship football in a stadium which needs paying for.

£23 per game for a season ticket which can be paid at like £45 per month is superb value.

4,000 empty seats reflects the football we are playing. If we had won the first two games, I reckon 29k would have been there.

Plus people are on holiday.

Pathetic post, how did the dugout position at Gillingham affect your attendance there?

The Poster has a perfectly good point. It is a massive gamble. Garcia has never played a game in the English league no managed a single game. Poyet has over one hundred games in the Premiership and second in charge at Spurs and Leeds United so Bloom has taken a real punt on this and 3 games, 3 defeats is not exactly encouraging.

Every single time this same tried and tested, boring, blinkered, narrow minded, xenophobic, tired bollox gets aired I state counter points and it NEVER get replied to.
So please please answer these:-

What if Oscar's best is better than the second division of English football?
Are you saying Oscar needs to dumb down his abilities?
Is English different to any other countries football?

You're basing your opinion on 3 games, we are not even halfway through August let alone the season.

For the fourth time, someone has trotted out the same 'oh you need to understand English football before you can manage in the Championship', bollox, and has refused to answer the simple question:-

'What if Oscar's best is better than the second division of English football'?

It's a simple enough question.
One that can't be difficult to answer if you hold the alternate view, but so far at least 4 posters have refused to defend their position.

Alex Ferguson had never played in the English League nor managed a single game either and he did alright.
