China has its flaws, just like any major country around the world. I think if you spent a bit of time outside of UK (not benidorm), you'd soon realise that the UK really is not the be all and end all.
If you're going to start a thread about a whole country that has 1.4bn people, and you've never been there, then expect to be challenged.

It works for whom? An employee of the Chinese government? My wife has been there and said it was utterly bland. No architecture. No culture. No warmth, no freedom. No (non-state-owned) creativity. Everyone is under the directorship of the Chinese civil service, all of whom are robots.

It's all about America to them , they believe it is their turn to be the global super power , the yanks and brits have had their turn as outlined by the post above , Australia has been dismissed as "the gum on our shoe" and it looks very much like they will attempt to reclaim Taipei/ Taiwan which could be catastrophic for the region , they are also conducting incursions into northern India and having fire fight and skirmishes with Indian troops.......they are not as benign as some would think.

China is a paradoxical country. A communist state, but probably more billionairres than the USA. My son has a friend who is married to a Chinese girl, who works in a club in London that looks after very wealthy Chinese. She "organises" things for them and has been known to get £10k tips. It's nothing to them.
Not sure about that. China were clever to massively undercut existing UK suppliers to BT 20-30 years ago that meant they got hooked on Huawei as a supplier who managed to grow from there. On 5G - the NCSC worked with Huawei over a long period and while no immediate security threats were found - the quality of code and certain aspects were of it were called out and did not improve over many years. Not sure why this is relevant to Trump as the only other major 5G suppliers are both Scandinavian

My constituency has held a large Tory majority for the whole of its existence (except for the short period where Nick Soames was kicked out of the party for opposing a no-deal Brexit).
As a non-Tory voter, my vote doesn't matter.
