have to agree - just getting a ticket for a home game is a total nightmare for me and the reason I don't get to matches at Withdean. Because my partner is disabled and I need "cover" when I disappear to watch games I can never be sure until the last minute that I can actually make it, no matter how much I try to plan. I had hoped that Falmer would be easier but I'm not convinced so far - it's the only negative in the best season for 30 years. Sad that attending my club's home fixtures is rendered extremely difficult while I can pretty well stroll up to any other club in the country :(

That's the idea of the smart card, you can effectivley decide at the last minute, hop on the bus/train, send a text, or phone up, whatever, and when you get to the turnstile your smartcard will recognise that you have paid. It sounds fantastic to me, how simple is that? Falmer will be sooo much easier than Withdean, you will be able to do it exactly how you have described. And being in the North Stand currently I can assure you, it is far quicker going through the turnstile with a smart card than waiting all that time for the attendant to tear off one end of your ticket and hand it back to you.

As to pre-season results - yes I believed during the summer that they did matter. As said many times, pre-season performances, results etc roll over into the football season aka 2009/2010.

This year our pre season results were cack like last year - but hey in Gus we trust & thankfully he is no Slade.

In Gus we trust ? Thats a bit rich.

YOU clearly didn't trust him in pre-season when you were CONSTANTLY on here grizzling about pre-season performances and moaning about us failing to beat County League sides, doom-mongering about how it was going to lead to a slow start to the season, etc etc.

What a load of bollocks your theories turned out to be again eh ?

Correct - I didn't think Gus got it right pre-season & based on the last two years pre-season results that rolled over into poor starts, why would I think that this year would have been any different? Especially as that elusive 20+ goal striker has not been signed.

Thankfully he is paid to manage the team & yes he has got it right.

By the way only 97 tickets left from the miserable old twat

Actually, I need to ask something and here is as good a place as any! Living oop north now, I'm planning on taking my Dad to the Gas game on the 20th November when back in Brighton - he's an OAP and I'm a regular adult - how do I go about getting tickets? The website only lets me buy 'one ticket per order' - bit shit that.

Forgot to mention, I haven't 'bought' tickets for a home game since 2001 - I was a season ticket holder 2002-2006

Just ring the ticket office, and buy them over the phone. Its a piece of piss.

You might have to hold for a few minutes, but its not the end of the world.

Loving it

Didn't really understand the technology, Presumably there will be an announcement at some time on how to get a card - sounds really promising. Thanks

If there is going to be such a clambour for tickets at Falmer week in week out with another '10,000' coming to the Amex every other week - don't you just think that some of these people would want to watch the club at withdean this season?

Hmmm ..... lets see ..... NO ! The reason - Withdean is a shite hole !!!!!

The bloke expressed an opinion, and later admitted his opinion has changed.....

WTF is wrong with that?

He is big enough to admit to it. Where are those who were saying Gus was the wrnog person when appointed, or we were wrong to get rid of Forster.

What's wrong with that? It's breaking one of the three fundamental rules of North Stand Chat:

1. Never admit you were wrong
2. Never change your mind
3. Never apologise

He should be banned!

Thanks Kingcole. I get lambasted when I put my hand up & say I made a mistake & called a cocky bastard when proved right last year & the previous year when our pre-season form carried into the league! Can't win sometimes!!!
Sticks & stones.

More importantly............

Only 54 tickets left.

Can we do it?
