Oh yes. My next door neighbour says he will come to games but hasn't bothered to see one in 10 years & there are 10,000 people out there like that? Do me a favour.

I think most people are confident attendances will rise significantly based upon the experiences of other clubs in similarly sized towns/cities when they moved into similarly sized new stadiums (Swansea, Reading, Hull etc). They all went from attracting similar crowds to the ones we currently have at Withdean in their old grounds to having ones in the mid-teens at their new ones. Obviously there have been some clubs who have not had the expected surge in crowds they hoped for (e.g. Darlington) but by and large a new stadium means much bigger crowds.

In addition, although this should be treated with some caution, there does appear to be a wealth of anecdotal evidence from supporters to suggest that many friends and colleagues who have previously rarely (or even never) visited Withdean yet plan to visit Falmer regularly or even get season tickets.

Finally, the demand for the 1901 Club has massively exceeded the club's expectations and if this is a yardstick then there is every reason to expect decent crowds at Falmer.

Maybe we should turn the question around? Why DON'T you think we will get much bigger crowds at Falmer (if that is what you think)?

We'll see won't we 'Steve Foster'. This has been discussed again and again (often in reply to your repeatedly pointless threads) so I'm not going to rise to it.

Question for you - say you are right (and you're not), so what? What is the point you are trying to make? We're not going to stop building the stadium because you think it's not going to draw 10k a week. So what exactly is the outcome you would like to see from your oft repeated "we won't fill it" threads?

If there is going to be such a clambour for tickets at Falmer week in week out with another '10,000' coming to the Amex every other week - don't you just think that some of these people would want to watch the club at withdean this season?

With less than 9 hours away there are still tickets for tonight's game?

Regrettably I have heard little more than conjecture, hearsay & just blind optimism as to how & where all the extra armchair visitors are going to come from.

Just had a look on line...it seems that there is only around 200 seats available, if that.

So lets all get behind the Albion and produce an away day atmosphere at home, for once we can do it

You didn't answer my question. So, what if you are right? What action do you want taken or what do you expect to happen.

These threads are a little tedious,.... but hey,.. expect 7300 ish and that will be it,...... no dramas. ( probably less than 250 from the West country)

I wrote a long reply & then my PC froze. Grrr!!

Essentially if I were the club to advertise, market, advertise & market.
Great job down with 1901 club. Now need to attract the casual fan.

Open Seagull shops in every main Sussex town, tickets to buy at all train stations, more advertising bus stops, busses, texts, papers etc - & not just in Brighton!

An Albion player to visit every secondary school in sussex at least once a season to give out complimentary tickets, merchandise etc

We could & should be a big club. Can't just expect people to turn up once the euphoria dies down. We did that at the Goldstone & ended up with 13/14 & 15,000 gates against the Coventry's Stokes & WBA & that was in the top flight!

And are Brighton not planning to do this? You make the point yourself "Great job down with 1901 club. Now need to attract the casual fan". Yep - great job, and NOW they start to move on to the rest. I'm sure they have thought of this.

As for the 13k crowds at the Goldstone, I'm not going to go over old ground, but if you search the many threads on this then you will see that crowds have moved on massively since the early 80's. Sadly we have missed out by being football nomads, but not for much longer.

Crowds are far, far bigger than they were (masses of stats elsewhere on NSC) - so you simply can't compare Goldstone data to what might happen at the Amex.

The Goldstone crowds are facts. What the crowds will be at Falmer is conjecture.

What is needed is turn the conjecture to facts! - Simples!

As for crowds bigger since the 80s. Would agree in part, however, there are many clubs up & down the land to whom have built new stadiums & crowds haven't necessarily responded.

Down to marketing, pricing, advertising & most importantly the league we are in!

Just building the stadium & expecting the current 7,000 who go to Withdean to turn into 17,000 - will not happen overnight.

it doesn't matter how well the albion are doing , i know lots of people who simply aren't interested in the withdean experience like it or not there the facts.

Bloody hell!!

We have 123 seats left:

1...........!! in South J
122 in W

If we sold out it would be wonderful if we could let BHA fans into the away end - segregate the seats. I suppose the club couldn't do it as home & away fans would have to go through the same turnstile
yeah, i can see what you're saying it would be a bit of a squeeze ???

Nothing Negative about this.......

South stand sold out, just 125 remaining in East Stand W block.....

Dr. N... As I stated previoulsy , there are (or were) plenty left in W, which is a stand that can accomodate families (as well as others) at the discounted prices of a quid for under 10's.

It however is not the official L+G family stand, whcih is blocks T+U.

We understand these blocks are sold out, but there are seats in W, which I am guessing is where you are. You can always check your ticket if unsure.

Go easy on SF. He is not always negative, mearly he tries to talk up the numbers, and like me gets excited when we look like selling out.

I am a number geek and am fascinated with the numbers we have sold/remaining.

Time will tell re Falmer............ Cant wait!
