The Goldstone crowds are facts. What the crowds will be at Falmer is conjecture.

What is needed is turn the conjecture to facts! - Simples!

As for crowds bigger since the 80s. Would agree in part, however, there are many clubs up & down the land to whom have built new stadiums & crowds haven't necessarily responded.

Down to marketing, pricing, advertising & most importantly the league we are in!

Just building the stadium & expecting the current 7,000 who go to Withdean to turn into 17,000 - will not happen overnight.
smart cards are the problem , why not pay on the gate

have to agree - just getting a ticket for a home game is a total nightmare for me and the reason I don't get to matches at Withdean. Because my partner is disabled and I need "cover" when I disappear to watch games I can never be sure until the last minute that I can actually make it, no matter how much I try to plan. I had hoped that Falmer would be easier but I'm not convinced so far - it's the only negative in the best season for 30 years. Sad that attending my club's home fixtures is rendered extremely difficult while I can pretty well stroll up to any other club in the country :(

Falmer will be easier! You will get a smart card which can be authorised over the web or via phone on match day. Paper tickets will be for away supporters only.

But didn't they have a fairly good turnout for this fixture last season? I seem to remember they had more than quite a few clubs who are nearer to us. However, it's a Tuesday night at the Withdean so you may be right!

If these threads are so boring, why do they consistently get 5 pages or so..?
I, for one, enjoy these threads with the numbers etc. Keep up the good work SF and others.

Yes I remember that they brought a pretty good number down. At least 400 from memory & were also in fine singing voice.

By the way only 95 left!

Last minute push folks. We can sell out.

Actually, I need to ask something and here is as good a place as any! Living oop north now, I'm planning on taking my Dad to the Gas game on the 20th November when back in Brighton - he's an OAP and I'm a regular adult - how do I go about getting tickets? The website only lets me buy 'one ticket per order' - bit shit that.

Forgot to mention, I haven't 'bought' tickets for a home game since 2001 - I was a season ticket holder 2002-2006

Does he though?

He seems to have some sort of vendetta against the club and comes across as a bit of a whinging wanker.

I'm sure you're misreading his intent
I think he is just very very earnest :lolol:

anyway we can all be wankers sometimes - it's just a synonym for "keyboard warrior" :lolol::lolol:

Thank you for the back handed complement re ticket sales.

As to pre-season results - yes I believed during the summer that they did matter. As said many times, pre-season performances, results etc roll over into the football season aka 2009/2010.

This year our pre season results were cack like last year - but hey in Gus we trust & thankfully he is no Slade.

Not 'overnight', we've still got nine months to go before it opens. But if you make that statement on, say, Friday 5th August 2011, then actually yes it will happen overnight.

The main problem is that your ongoing contention about Withdean itself not being a factor for low attendances is WRONG. Seeing as you work on that as your basis for all other attendance opinions, it's no wonder you're seen as a miserable negative twat.

Anyhoo that aside, how many left now for tonight?
