Possibly my favourite film ever, it scrapes in as a War Film as David Niven is a Lancaster Pilot who bales out without his parachute at the start.

It is mostly fantasy (but what wonderful fantasy) from then on.
Wonderful film

Even though Raiders and Last Crusade see Indy go up against the Nazis, I wouldn’t class as war films, would you?

They are my favourite action films though.

Ice Cold In Alex

Defiance
Battle of Britain (1969) - as a young kid I understandably thought it was boring. It’s actually alluring, the film of dogfights and more in a sunny English September stunning.
The Heroes of Telemark
Enemy At The Gates

 Defiance with Daniel Craig.

A group of Belarusians make a decision to live in the woods, rather than join the Russians to escape from the German Nazis. It's not easy and it packs an emotional punch as they survive the brutal winters with little shelter and no heat. As they emerge triumphant in 1944, it shows a beautiful spring with hope for the future. I can't really put into words how good this powerful film is.

It’s a brilliant movie.

Went to watch that in the cinema when it first came out and as a kid was frightened by one scene with one plane occupants goggles suddenly filled with blood 🤦‍♂️

I just can't get past Daniel Craig and the bloke from Billy Elliot's ridiculous 'Belarusian' accents. Totally kills it for me. Craig is a poor actor at the best of times imho and Defiance isn't a great vehicle for him.
I tend to agree. I found it rather dull. Didn’t do it for me.
