My fave is the book saying the "Titanic" didn't actually sink in April 1912; it was her sister ship the "Olympic" which had earlier been damaged outside Southampton in a collision with a Navy battlecruiser, and was "swapped" back at Harland and Wolff shipyards with the uncompleted "Titanic" and sent out to a deliberate sinking to claim insurance on a "hobbled" liner. But the arranged sinking went wrong, the "California" didn't turn up to recue everybody as planned, etc.etc.

Just how did they "swap" two of the biggest ships afloat without anyone noticing??

Interesting book, entirely plausible provided you could manage to keep all the people involved from talking about it! The two ships were virtually identical apart from a few relatively easy to alter details.

Cant remember the name of the chap who died a few years ago, a Danish Socialist who loved spinning yarns. One was that the Thatcher/Reagan Governments were controlled and told what to do by a clandestine economist living in New York. I had it repeated to me as gospel a few years ago.

Another is that Dennis Thatcher organised international Conferences to be near top golf courses in the 1980's.

Don't know about JFK but yes to the others. How many inquests were there into Diana's death - if there were something remotely dodgy it would have come out by now.

I was imagining it as a space thriller, in the vein of Moon where it starts with a couple of, what we presume to be humans, in a spaceship on an observation mission, then over the course of the film they hear sensor alarms, letting them know of foreign bodies on the surface of their ship. A film of paranoia as the watchers start wondering if they are being watched. Then towards the end we get the revelation that their "ship" is the moon, they are aliens not humans, and the sensors being set off was neil armstrong, buzz aldrin landing on the moon.

on Diana, yes. its been trawled over and the conspiracy is so tenuous in the first place, with a ludicrously high risk method. the background reasons are implausible or have been proved wrong or denied (not that proof or denial ever stops a conspiracy theorist), and the fact is had she worn a seat belt she (and Dodi) would certainly have survived.

the full details around JFK and 911 i believe will never be transparent now becuase there's too much conspiracy nonsence clouding the view. the conspricists are the creating the perfect cover, itself a suggest conspiracy
