Sounds a tad dodgy. I'd maybe shell out for a Beat version of Rock The Kasbah, but only after having listened to it first. And a new Beat album a quarter century after their first lacklustre effort? REALLY don't think so somehow :nono:

Trust THPP me i heard them do it live and it is awesome

Gangsters, the first & the best single on Two-tone

Bernie Rhodes knows, don't argue!

Modern ska = Ghost Town

Old ska = Last Train to Skaville

Another vote for Ghost Town.

The Specials at the Top Rank in 1979 - the same time as the Tory Conference was on - was one of the greatest concerts I have been to. I think they did 6 encores and I was amongst several of the stage invasions. Great nite!

Outside of the more obvious choices, the track 'The Selecter' , by The Selecter is a fantastic instrumental. Seek it out.

Anything else by the Selecter I find too raucous with Pauline Black shouting all over it.

It's on the B-Side of 'Gangsters'. That group called The Selecter on the first 2Tone record wasn't the Selecter we came to know. It was basically a session group featuring members of The Specials and what became The Selecter.

I DJ'd at Selecter and Bad Manners gigs a few times in the early 90s, and can definitely say that Pauline Black is much better to look at than to listen to. Know wot I mean?
