C'mon, THINK man. Anybody who got fired up on punk, MUST have found 2Tone a poor 2Dimensional substitute, if punk meant anything at all. The Specials were hyped by the NME beyond all reason. As Terry Hall went on to prove in the Fabulous Bingo Brothers with their one smash single 'Ma Brought The Donkey In From The Yard'. Dopey FunBoyThree dull twattwattwattwat that he was. The Selector were unlistenable. No tunes whatsoever. Madness were comic book patronisers of skinheads. The Beat were one-hit wonders with the most GLORIOUS hit 'Mirror In The Bathroom'. still cherish that 12 incher to this day. A beautiful classic.

And... RELAX

Toss and bollocks. You know nothing.

Songs like 'concreate jungle' and 'monkey man' were political epics. Compare that to a load of middle class kids with safety pins in their expensive jeans shouting "f***".
Ska was probably the first genuine colaboration between black and white working classes in the 60's and 70's.

And I'm not letting that drop about Terry Hall. You might not want to go for a drink with him but he's a british music legend. He recorded an absolute winner called 'the Problem Is' with the (admittedly hit and miss) Dub Pistols a couple of years ago. What have Sham 69 been up to?
