It's fait enough that they should want him - why wouldn't they? What's puzzling about that?

Perhaps all the talk about him is driven by your last sentence. Wouldn’t be the first player whose ‘people’ tout him to other clubs as part of a negotiating process. If the Albion rate him as highly he will get a new deal in the Summer and the talk will cease.

It is quite funny. Leeds fans constantly show themselves to be amongst the most arrogant in football. I think a lot of them think they are going to walk back into the Premier League next season and be near the top.
Their squad isn't actually that strong in Premier League terms currently. There aren't many players that are proven in the Premier League. They might do really well. And you'd think Bielsa would get the best out of their players but even he hasn't managed in the Premier League.
To keep their squad together, they will need to buy their loan players. That includes White, who is unlikely to be sold to them if we stay up, along with Costa, Harrison and Meslier (who may all sign but will take a portion of their transfer budget). Their lead striker is Patrick Bamford, who has never done well in the Premier League.
In order to match some of their fans' expectations, Leeds are going to have to do really well in the transfer market and get the absolute most out of their existing squad. It's not going to be easy (which is not to say they won't do it).
I have a solution that will suit everyone, Ben White comes home to us on an improved contract, we then loan Matt Clarke to Leeds.
We get our promising young player back, and Leeds supporters get another Albion centre back to pretend is theirs.

We got Webster for a similar amount and, while he was one of the best defenders in the Championship last season, I never heard the talk of him from fans/pundits that I've heard about White. He was also a couple of years older last summer than White is now. So I'd be surprised if the valuation was a similar amount (not that I think we want to sell him anyway)
Nah I think we should really twist Leeds fans melons by giving them Haydon Roberts.

Yep - work out who our 6th choice CB is, and let them have him on loan and be their player of the season.

Come on Starry, I've been looking at whoscored.com when White plays and he regularly gets top Mark's for Leeds so it must be true, or at least a sliver of truth.

can't find the comment complimenting me on my comments on here in both our league one glory dayscan't say as i recognise many of the names here nowadays, but i have come back and read here every so often, until white our paths have not had cause to cross for some time.
the comment about ben white being our best player this season he isn't, you lot would do yourselves all a favour to stop reading trashy football websites and bored teenagers gobbing off online and churning out these comments. that said i know there are issues with the salary he has from bha nothing that can't be solved with a few zeros i am sure. he has been a decent player, but he has a long way to go to be a premier league starter, surely makes most sense for you to loan him out again next season to whoever is challenging at top of championship then.
It is interesting to hear a different view about Ben White. All I've seen from Leeds fans online and pundits is that he is going to be the next England centre back and is already a brilliant Premier League player (despite never having played in the Premier League). I've never totally bought into the hype, as we need to see him in the Premier League before he is judged. I am confident he will be playing for Brighton next season and that will be the true test of whether he is as good as has been suggested. I really hope he is but am concerned there will be so much expectation around him that, if he doesn't immediately live up to that, he will get criticism.

He has, of course, been on loan at Elland Road from Brighton & Hove Albion and is set to return to the Seagulls at the end of the campaign.
Nixon wrote on Twitter, when asked about the possibility of him moving on: “He’s a Brighton player.
“He’s got a new contract lined up. If he wants to go it will be 40-50m.”

5th-ranked overall (after Ayling, Philips, Hernandez and Cooper) but not much in the scores.
No-one is going to pay that kind of cash for an unproven at the top level defender..............if he has a blinding season with us next season the valuation might be heading that way if a top 4 club want him, but not yet.
Surely he's been one of the best players? Its not just "bored teenagers" and "trashy websites"; all the metrics sites, Bielsa and a bunch of big team scouts all seem to consider him a very good player. Perhaps not the best in the team (Kalvin Phillips is dirty good), but good enough to - as a 22 year old CB - start almost every game in a team managing to get promoted to the PL.
I dont think he will go on loan to the Championship again. Either he stays in Brighton, or he goes on loan to Leeds, or he is sold to a top club, but another year in Championship certainly isnt in the plans of anyone.
I reckon that's the idea. (If there's any truth in the story). Quote a ridiculous price so they bugger off, but the player can be placated (if he wanted to go) because nobody made a bid...
Exactly - we don't want, or need, to sell - so unless the offer is patently ridiculous you can get stuffed.

I don't see any way that Brighton will loan him to Leeds. There is no logic to it. Giving a quality player to a potential rival for nothing but a loan fee. It makes absolutely no sense. He'll either be playing for Brighton or go to a big six team, if one of them wants to take a punt and pay a lot for him (but a lot less than they would after he's had a good season in the Premier League). I think it will probably be the former with him staying at Brighton
I think a loan to Leeds is pretty likely if Ben wants to play with Leeds in the PL. Graham Potter is very consistent in his philosophy that if you want to be elsewhere, you'll be elsewhere: if he is not 100% committed to Brighton, it will need to be solved in another fashion than forcing him to stay. Luckily I think Potter is able to convince most players that playing for his side is the best choice they can do, but you never no.
The team is stacked with central defenders. Leeds are unable to buy him. MAYBE a top club comes around with a bid of say £25m, but if he made a good season in the PL that price would increase a lot. Another season on loan at Leeds would give him play time and likely increase his value and Brighton would still be pretty content with the CB options. Of course a loan deal would need to include a "not allowed to play vs Brightonr" clause and a decent fee, but I dont see it as impossible. Its uncommon but not unheard of that a mid-tier club (like 20/21 Brighton) loans a player to a newly promoted team.
Sorry.... I thought the main clause in your comment was that they were resigned to losing him, rather than they wanted to keep him. Yes, it obviously makes complete sense that they would want to keep him...
- but (sorry to quibble), under the circumstances of his being loaned without the possibility of a subsequent purchase, it doesn't seem 'fair' to me that they put pressure on to alter the terms of the deal.
