I only thought this as he's basically a newcomer to the England set up.I’ve no idea. But I think he is more of a “footballer’s footballer” than Ben White.
I do hope he does well, but GS does have his faves.

Can someone translate this for me?Ben was upset with the abuse some of the families of his mates received after the US game. Ironically by the same type of nation border licking degenerates now angry at him for not playing. He felt that if he played and turned bad, it just wasn't worth it. So he went home. Yes he told Steve Holland something like "f*** off, how many are we gonna give em" when they had a 45 minute defensive set piece training session beofre playing Wales but it was nothing really and the truth is Ben dont want his family to get abused so hes saying no to England rn
Can someone translate this for me?
Could be. But that IS the life of a footballer. When Arsenal go away pre-season, you're living from hotel room to hotel room for a month+. During the season a domestic away game will involve at least 1 night cooped up in a hotel. Europe you're probably looking at 3. This isn't an "alien environment" for the likes of White to walk into.I reckon if he could go and live in a rented house or apartment between training sessions / matches - like tennis players do, he’d probably go. But of course that isn’t tenable in a team sport. I genuinely believe it’s all the down time at the hotel and the Team England stuff he can’t stomach.
How have you come to this conclusion?I reckon if he could go and live in a rented house or apartment between training sessions / matches - like tennis players do, he’d probably go. The standard of opposition was far better back then. Sven and Capello would have won that Euro final with the current lot.Well, lest we recall our "golden generation", who achieved absolutely f-all under Sven and Capello. They inherited arguably a better set of players than Southgate, but the best we ever got under them was a couple of QF failures under Sven, and a L16 under Capello.
How does Southgates record stack up against those two, champ ?
It's a comfort zone thing. Less an issue being away with Arsenal for brief periods but more of an issue for a tournament, especially if you're not close to many in the squad, have social anxiety tendancies/are an introvert as I suspect BW is. At least having separate accommodation would mitigate that to a degreeHow have you come to this conclusion?
Agree. I’d also love to see RDZ manage the current England team. The standard of opposition was far better back then. Sven and Capello would have won that Euro final with the current lot.

One day you and I should get a room. For me this is probably it. Personally I could think of little worse than being picked for the Euros and having to spending a month in a hotel with Phil Fodden, Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker et al, with all their shit ‘lads bantz’ and having to bet a grand or multiples thereof on anything and everything that happens in a day.
I would genuinely hate that and maybe BW feels similarly.
Better because whatever one may say about his coaching, he has created a squad ethic.Well, lest we recall our "golden generation", who achieved absolutely f-all under Sven and Capello. They inherited arguably a better set of players than Southgate, but the best we ever got under them was a couple of QF failures under Sven, and a L16 under Capello.

Obviously I'm not in the know any more than anyone else but I did read an article that White had an issue with one of the England training coaches (implication was bullying) - if that's true, then "just suck it up" seems a bit harsh - nobody should have to work in a hostile environment. Now, I’m not a huge fan of Gareth - a post modern anti Alan Bennet ‘nice’ none northern cliche of a PE teacher…
But I find this all rather odd.
To play for your country is a honour, so suck it up and play for the shirt.
To compound things you’ve got Gareth saying he’s not sure why ?!? Seriously, wtf? Ask the perma-tanned fashion poodle !
I wish people would speak plainly, the modern world is a minefield of people tripping over themselves to be as inoffensive as possible… and that right there is why we’ll never win anything with Gareth at the helm.
I imagine most teams are run with a degree of bullying. There’s probably enough of it going on at Arsenal so I don’t blame him for time off away from it.Obviously I'm not in the know any more than anyone else but I did read an article that White had an issue with one of the England training coaches (implication was bullying) - if that's true, then "just suck it up" seems a bit harsh - nobody should have to work in a hostile environment.
That's all very fluffy but the conclusion I would come to he that's the case is that he chose the wrong career.Plenty of England cricketers have declined to go on tours, or dropped out, citing "personal reasons" and they don't seem to get too much stick about it. It doesn't mean they don't care about the prestige of playing for their country.
I'm not particularly a fan of White- always comes across as a bit of a My Little Pony to me- but perhaps he's one of those people who really struggles outside of a familiar environment. Maybe he suffers from anxiety, some sort of neurodiversity or mental health issue, and he's not comfortable spending weeks on end with a bunch of blokes he doesn't know that well. I'd be really reluctant to join the pile-on when none of us know what's happening in his world (nor do we have any right to).
Wish I'd made that terrible career choice. That's all very fluffy but the conclusion I would come to he that's the case is that he chose the wrong career.
If you can mix great mortar but pick inferior bricks, you get a crap building.Better because whatever one may say about his coaching, he has created a squad ethic.
You can pick the bricks but you can't build anything if you can't mix the mortar.
