Or any Albion chant. Maybe the 'blue & white army' song for around 5-10 minutes or so. That'll learn her.

I was just musing on how far through the alphabet Smudge would have got before security took him away to the brig.

Not a bad start, but you've a bit of catching up to match Digweeds Trousers advice to HR https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/showthread.php?42216-An-emotional-apology-to-all

Zero Tolerance here (alcohol) during contract; that's 12 weeks without a drop. Regular testing keeps you on your toes if you dabble. I choose not to as need the job.
By the way, the name of the training, which we're all supposed to go through. "Vacation Hero Training - 2.0" I missed version 1.0

We have a new Human Resources Director. I had to attend a training session with her this morning.
She tried to get us to introduce ourselves to the rest of the group with a song & dance.
I walked out. Waiting for repercussions.
Happy Clappy Bullcrap.

I have never heard of anything quite so moronic. Unbelievable. Walking out is the absolute correct response there.

Perhaps you could have simply droned "heaven knows I'm miserable now"?
Having said that, I think you responded properly.

I’m sure there are some lovely people who work for Veolia at the Sheepcote tip, but they are hard to find. Most of them stand and watch, have a chat amongst themselves or check their mobile phones as elderly people struggle to carry their rubbish up several steps. But of course they can’t help the “customers” because of elf n safety regulations. Fortunately this means they have lots of time to think about the content and design of the latest new warning sign at the site. The Sheepcote tip has more signs per square metre than anywhere in Brighton, Sussex....probably the entire world. Veolia management have undoubtedly earned the right to feature in this thread as complete Bell Cheeses.
Ha ha! The nearest one to me in Sheffield is exactly the same. There used to fewer signs and more helpful staff. That's progress!

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
We now have a Director of "Talent" at work.

The precise definition of "talent" has yet to be explained.

Have to say the chaps at the Burgess Hill tip (sorry, Community Recycling Facility) are pretty good. Quite happy to help lug stuff out of your car if you need help.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I turned up there today with a large potted plant, which I was going to dismantle into the correct sections - the worker just grabbed it, smashed the pot into the "rubble" section, bashed off most of the earth then handed the denuded plant to me to put in the "garden waste" section.

Have to say the chaps at our local tip are very helpful. However there is one miserable sod and the only time I have seen him smile is when I took up my sons porn collection for them to dispose of when he left home

Had 4 days off sick last week with viral gastroenteritis; aka the shits.

Went to the doctor on Friday as I could finally leave my house without feeling like my insides were about to fall out my arse at any second. Asked the doctor for a sick note for when I go back in on Monday. Doctor explained that they’re only supposed to issue them if you’ve been off for a week or more now so I wouldn’t need one.

Messaged work to explain what I had, that I should be back on Monday etc. Got told they’ll need a sick note as I’ve been off for more than 3 days. Explained what the doctor had said regarding them, but nope they replied saying they’ll still need one as their policy is 3 days. Rang up my doctors and explained the predicament and the receptionist explained that I’d need to book another appointment to ask for a sick note, but even then it would be on the discretion of the doctor.

So now I’ve got to try and get a doctor appointment Monday morning before I start work. Doctors opens at 8, I start work at 8:30 and it takes me 45 minutes to get in. But no, I’ve got to try and get a completely pointless sick note. Waste of my time, waste of company time, and a waste of a doctors time ffs.

I would tell your firm the regulations regarding ssp only requires a self certification if 7 days or less were taken off sick. Tell them to do one!

My High Street company decided to have an anonymous online survey of the staff's understanding of company " values " , expectations, working environment, career paths and pay. All the responses to the questions were graded from 1 " Strongly Agree " to 10 " Strongly Disagree " but with the option to expand upon the answers to each question in a comments box for each question. … such was the interest apparently, with the huge amount of responses, the company decided to extend the end date of the survey from the end of October '18 to November '18...… Spoke to a couple of trusty pals instore and we all said how we had given the survey both barrels with explanations in the comments box.

Nearly 8 months after the closure of the survey response time and not a word has been said on the company staff webpage, in house " Magazine " or mentioned by the directors of the store. We are not expecting the exercise to be repeated !

Think it best that you take an extra couple of days sick leave. The weather forecast is good and a couple of days in the sun will help your recovery. Your doctor can then give you a certificate to satisfy your employer. Everyone wins! .....or do they

Yes and what a shit shower (pardon the concept).

I am likely to post on Plagiarism and Mitigation at uni at some point. My estemmed junior colleagues, on career saving administrative secondment, don't know what they are doing. Who knew? I knew. I absolutely knew. And said. Did anyone listen? No they did not. Meanwhile, the whole of China is about to boycott my Russell Group uni. Top work. :ffsparr:
