when the atmosphere is excellent I have always been perplexed when watching back on television it does not seem all that. It is almost like they turn it down incase there is some swearing.

Meanwhile they stick a mic in front of 50 spotty chavs in black hoodies and, hey presto, you have the legendary atmosphere of shitehole park!

The magic of television ???

I heard the Leicester fans sing 'Leicester, Leicester, Leicester' once, that was it. North Stand atmosphere was good after the first and second, died down a bit after their second, and again after the VAR decision, but it was good otherwise.

They also sang something about 'champions of England you'll never say that'. I pity the fools who feel compelled to live in the past.

Some wags near us tried a few stanzas of 'winners of the Sussex senior cup, you'll never say that'. It didn't really catch on. But it made me smile. A bit.

Of course, those that know their history will smugly reflect on the fact our great club were dubbed ‘Champions of all England’ in 1910.

Sounded like they were singing 'we are staying up' at one point. I guess that must have been while they were 1-0 up

Personally couldn't give a shit how it sounded in radio or TV. In the NS it sounded and felt really good for most of the match, bar a couple of quiet bits after their early goal and the VAR Bullshit

If only they put the mics in the east upper Ultras, all these people commenting on the 'poor atmosphere on the radio' would look somewhat foolish

Listening on the radio start of the second half, could only hear the Leicester fans. Fairly standard stuff at the Amex these days.

Strange as I only heard them 4 times (both goals a cmon Leicester and the champions of England chant once)

Sitting in the west north end they weren’t loud at all and it wasn’t liked they were drowned out throughout by the home fans either

‘Champions of Sussex, you’ll never sing that’…….we did it up at their place too. They laughed and applauded :lol:

I'm in WSU. Season ticket holder next to me couldn't go and I guess the exchange must have been open because his seat was occupied by a German tourist. He told me that he often came over to experience different English grounds. He was at Tottenham yesterday. He commented to me what a fantastic atmosphere there was at the game, much better than Tottenham yesterday. By the end he was joining in some of the singing and said that he had arrived as a neutral but was leaving as Brighton fan ! Of course, this was an exceptionally exciting game for a neutral tourist but even so , this helps confirm the in the ground atmosphere sense many of us had versus the ' wherever do they put the microphone ' quietness of some tv broadcasts.

Absolutely agreed, as someone who was at the ground, that the atmosphere was great (after the shock of the first goal for them!). If you weren’t there you really shouldn’t be in a position to comment on it.

My first game watching on TV today and there was no noise at all on the TV output. And yet every home atmosphere at the ground this season has been decent. Not AMAZING but decent. Think we need to stop handwringing about it and get on with it.

Did you ask him to pass on our regards to Hunemier on his return to the land of wurst and lederhosen.

Amex atmosphere was decent as usual - just like Leeds. And brilliantly loud at Fulham (who we didn’t hear pretty much all game). As often said, acoustics play a part, but we have one of the better hole atmospheres in the league compared to the places I’ve been without doubt.

We had a couple of Japanese tourists in our row, typically humble and nice.

I wonder what they thought about the mass "wanker" chants aimed at the ref, or the bloke constantly charging down the steps to abuse Maddison? :lolol:
