Only wear it to a Brighton game [give it a special occasion meaning] - its my match day uniform and despite being XXL I feel good in it coz its MY TEAM !

Only other time I wore it was to a works do [ten pin bowling] where we were asked to support Championship teams and as we were in the championship at the time and 250 miles from Brighton - I WAS PROUD TO.

As a CULTURAL aside, you NEVER see people over here wearing replica shirts unless it's MATCH DAY and they're GOING, or are doing something SPORTY which requires such a GARMENT. The exception seems to be the under 12s who wear colours whenever. Come MATCH DAY however and most people do, including the odd ADULT in FULL kit, which just looks a bit CREEPY to me. Like an adult dressed up as a CHILD.

All that said, away from match days, I only really wear colours around the HOUSE or at the GYM thesedays.

No age is too old to wear the shirt.

Can't understand why some care so much about what others wear.
Is it any of their business?
I don't think anybody 'cares' as such. The only people being a bit defensive are the adults who DO wear replica shirts. I think the sensible ones know that as garments they do look a bit naff, but for them wearing a replica shirt to a game is part of the 'matchday experience' and fair enough, as you say it's their business. In one respect it's a bit like the way people dress up to watch things like The Rocky Horror Picture Show. That's something else I wouldn't do, but again, if people want to then fair enough.

(Note I did say 'in one respect' not 'the same as'. I've never seen anybody dressed as Dr Frank-N-Furter wandering around Sainsburys - not even in Kemptown.)

Never (I hope) as my other half got me a replica shirt from my first ever Brighton game for my birthday, a very smart 1968/69 season shirt. This will be worn proudly at the matches next season.

I'm glad she didn't but the shorts and socks !

erm......I am crap at posting pictures!!!

I was once warned by a Met Police sergeant about the potential trouble I was laying myself open to when I wore an Albion shirt at Selhurst. Palace were playing Norwich City at the time.

:)

Never after 14 really. Especially if you have a players name on the back of it!

It is ok if you are running a marathon to wear one with your name on the back of it.

Retro shirts now thst is a different kettle of fish.

I look at some of the 'generously' proportioned geezers on soccer am, in their snug fit kit, its a real no no,.... ban it for over 20's........ or over 12 if you measure by stones.

Never.
If you wear colours to the match then why not a replica shirt - I don't like wearing a scarf anyway so that rules that out.
IMHO the only people who excused from wearing colours to a games are our firm, if you don't wear colours and you don't fight you're just a wannabe.
