Bearing in mind that this country is spending billions supporting the opponents of the Taliban, why does bushy get so twitchy when one such opponent gets identified in the Daily Mail?
I get "twitchy" with everyone who is taking the piss out of the welfare state, including scumbag cousins of mine who receive £50 plus a week in disability allowance, for f***ing dyslexia i kid you not, they've never done a days work in their f***ing lives yet always seem to have money for booze etc, this country or parts of it are so wedded to welfare dependency inherited by labour and expanded at an unprecedented scale that it will take decades to cure the problem, if a government ever decides to tackle it, think the unthinkable my left bollock, labour encourages this because it expands its support base, that and the plethora of non f***ing jobs that fill the guardian employment ads. people on here describing labour as the " good guys" , f***ing DELUDED.

Sorry but how do you work that out? My parents got a mortgage on their current £300,000 property for under £60,000 in the early 80s. This was not above their means. They had to work hard for it obviously but it was within their means. How could I, a 26 year old with an above average income ever afford such a place?
...
Because to me it looks like home ownership for the under 40s is a pipe dream.

i come back to this, because although Chicken Run answerd it well, theres two important points raised. firstly, you are basically blaming Thatcher for increasing aspirations of a generation so that you believe you should have your own home, ignoring that everyone else has the same aspiration, which is why its now, currently, too expensive for you. its society and the market that has priced you out, not Thatcher! did you ever consider that maybe housing was undervaluded in the 80's? in previous decades few people under 30 did own their own home, so if you have to wait till you are 40 then maybe we are returning to the historical norm? either blame her for selling off social housing because you believe in that, or blame her for giving you an expectation to own your home, you cant blame her for both.

second point, well done to your parents and im sure they worked hard. mine had only afforded a mortgage because my mum worked for the bank so got a better deal. but note parents. two people earning income to get the mortgage. here's the dirty little secret, our parents and especially our grandparents are stopping you and I moving along the property chain. They are living in homes they own, well into their 80s, 90's and when they die the property gets sold onto the highest seller. If you are 26, and lets assume you have sibliing that old enough to be indepedent, why havent your parents moved out? maybe sold to you at nice cheap price? not likely though is it, they are happy where they are i bet, as are my parents. my sister is about to have a baby in a north London flat (literally, home birth) while my parents are living in a 4 bed house. this is how we live. are you going to ask your folks to move out? think of that next time you ponder the housing market, its not the super-rich who own homes, its the 40+ who've worked a lifetime for them and dont see any reason to give them up.

I actually agree with some of this. There are far too many people who choose a life of scrounging off the state as some sort of lifestyle choice. No relatives of mine, but one of my wife's best friends is like this. She is a disgrace.

HOWEVER, what I find annoying about your ranty shouty mantra is that I never ever hear you banging on about some of the disgraceful injustices at the top end. For example, how come News International are able to influence decision making at the highest level despite paying about £1.50 in tax over the past 10 years? Or what about the amount of tax the mega wealthy manage to avoid paying by syphening it all off-shore? And as for the Royal family, better not even go there because we'll get all manner of people justifying their privileges in some very dubious ways.

I'm sure you agree with a lot of what I say here, but I never see you put the boot in, in quite the same way as you do with the scroungers.

News international ? dont get me started!! agree with you on that point, the royal family, agreed again, the super rich ? think they should pay 40% like the rest of us and once it gets beyond that i dont blame them for trying to avoid it, what i do find a pisstake is the likes of philip green getting a knighthood when he lives in monaco and pays virtually fuckall tax here.

Yes I knew you'd agree with me. But actions speak louder than words, and I don't see your name on 15 page rants against these people - only on the anti-immigrant/unemployed scrounger binfest threads.

P.S. Those formula one twats who wrap themselves in Union Flags can also do one, seeing as they live in Monaco, home of the super rich paying f***-all in tax.

well start a thread about it then , and lets be honest immigrants/scroungers are a lot more numerous/visible day to day than the people you mention above.

Bushy doesn't have the capacity to look beyond his normal old argument of immigrants, scroungers etc.

As for F1 draping themselves in Flags, phillip Green getting knighted etc, well I don't blame them for living abroad with what the government taxes them and you can love your country but dislike the government that taxes you.

Your jokes are as inaccurate, unfunny and outdaated as your political views.

Back to the point though. When I go into that kind of tax bracket I'm outta the UK for sure.

hate to admit it, but that's a hook-line-and-sinker moment.

Really? Well let me explain for the slower element on here. I have been acting full time for less than a year. ie, acting has been my sole income for less than a year. With me so far? Cool, now the fiscal year is from April to April, therefore I have not had to pay tax on my earnings and because of the way I timed my transferring of occupation I will not have to pay tax for another 16 months.

If my earnings continue as they are for another year beyond there is no way I will continue to live in the UK.

Are we all up to speed?

Let me guess , you'll move to Romania where your earnings from "acting" will stretch to a reposessed ski chalet at least 3 hours from some provincial airport :lolol:

What you can't afford to? I know it is expensive the best thing to do is buy some properties and rent them out. That will boost your income no end.......I would imagine.
