If Gordon Brown hadn't taken the decisive action he did last year, the cashpoints would have run dry within days and we'd be living under martial law now, with all the supermarkets long since looted. Blame the banks for the biggest threat - by far - to our way of life within our lifetime.

not going to let you play that card. If Brown had taken some action over regulating the industry for the previous 10 years we may never have got into the situation in the first place. The only positive thing Brown/Darling did was act assertively (do nothing would have been a disaster), but they are no saviours and we dont know if their medicine was the right stuff yet. Blame the politicians for having enjoyed the good times for a decade without asking any questions.

thats not an answer, "not me guv, it was the previous lot what done it". you going to blame the renaissance bankers for developing the banking system, or the Romans for the concept of land ownership? Blair, Brown and co had the power and the time to change things, they sat on their hands. they spent the tax income and borrowed money like there was no tomorrow, happy days, no boom and bust... oh bugger.

kinda pointless insulting retort (see sig) and suggests you've got nothing better. whats the matter, Labour not live up to expectations?

The only expectation Labour didn't live up to in my book was B.Liar dragging us into the illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq. Still, that's being addressed now. He'll be done as a war criminal yet.

Perfectly happy with Labour's investment in health, education, the elderly, the vulnerable. Oh, and the railways. Y'know, all these benchmarks of a civilised society (and yes, there IS such a thing, funnily enough)

Only real disappointment is Gordon Brown's refusal to forcibly expel the greedhead bankers to those countries where they are always threatening to go and live if we refuse to somehow bow down to their God-given talents. f*** 'em. Send them there, by force if necessary, and have their kids grow up speaking German or Japanese, and leave the rest of us in the UK to live in a poorer, fairer place.

And... RELAX :smokin:

i quite like the investment made too. just a shame it was all on tick, that too much has gone to the legions of administrators and consultants rather than front line services, and education in particular hasn't been improved for all the money and (yet more) tinkering.

No point voting Labour in the Lewes constituency. I doubt they'll reach 4 figures.
