As an aside I’d like to see FH much more animated on the touchline rather than the confused rabbit in the headlights he looks
As an aside, I’d rather he control his ‘animation’ - one touchline ban and a yellow card with still a third of the season to go, I think he probably gets animated enough. 🙄

A very gratifying fight-back. MOTM Lamptey scored the best goal we've scored all season. I just hope the replays show the whole build-up from the back. It was truly superb. When he came on, Mitoma changed the game, what a player he is. Whilst it's still very much a work in progress, (the defending was awful for their second goal,) there's enough to be encouraged by. 2-2 at Villa Park after a poor run is a very decent result. We'd have all taken that before kick-off.

For the neutral that must have been a cracker…

I’m delighted with both the result and the fight shown this evening. A good draw.

On a separate note, I know inverted wingers are the trending way to play atm but I can’t help but wonder just how good Mitoma and Minteh would be if they played on opposite wings and sent the crosses in over and over again with their natural foot. I know it won’t happen but it worked out ok historically for United with Giggs and Beckham doing it.

Pleased with this evenings efforts

You're spot on about their second. Gruda just headed the ball back to them but, even worse, Joao Pedro and Adingra sprinted upfield leaving an enormous chasm on the far side for their two players left in acres of space. Sure enough, one of them controlled the ball and had an easy shot to the corner.
And to think that someone was blaming Bart for that.

This.

The whole 'he shows no emotion on the bench' is such a stupid stick to beat him with.

Clutching at straws IMHO

How has the BBC come to this conclusion? I'm not sure I even noticed him.

Some of the posts on the villa forum make some of the more pessimistic posts on here seem entirely rational considering they're in the Champions League this season and doing bloody well in it. One example:

What did we learn tonight? Nothing new.

Our finishing and general play in the final third is atrocious. Our defence is a bad joke. Our game management and mentality at the end of games is pathetic.

We should have been out of sight against a team who there for the taking. How many times have we said that this season? This team is spineless.

Satisfied with that. A good away point with impactful substitutions.
I'd like to see Ayari and possibly Adingra out on loan, as for me, we have better cover in those positions.
Baleba MOTM for me.

Can someone buy Minteh

Yeah technically he's not the best yet but he does try. His workrate is commendable
His energy unsettled Villa. Just the sort of player you want to bring on towards the end of the game. Probably would have had a good chance to win it had he not slipped in the final couple of minutes.
