Looking at the Villa fans' forum match thread, I was amazed to see how it mirrored NSC over the last few frustrating weeks. In fact if you changed the names you could swap the matchday reviews over and no-one would notice! Don't put away chances, can't finish off matches, manager inept and too late with substitutions, substitutions reactive, not pro-active, should have been 4-1/5-1 up before Brighton equalised, summer signings not improving the team, and not even regularly getting starts.! Have a look for yourselves!

...,.....................,and how on earth did that ridiculous BBC online poll come up with Matt O'Riley as MOTM? Celtic fans voting for their boy?

Think they got really spoilt last season. It must be bloody hard to keep the form going when you have champions league. Their fans need to pipe down though they even beat Bayern at home this season.

Btw how good was Morgan Rogers. What a baller.

Some of the posts on the villa forum make some of the more pessimistic posts on here seem entirely rational considering they're in the Champions League this season and doing bloody well in it. One example:

What did we learn tonight? Nothing new.

Our finishing and general play in the final third is atrocious. Our defence is a bad joke. Our game management and mentality at the end of games is pathetic.

We should have been out of sight against a team who there for the taking. How many times have we said that this season? This team is spineless.
Their whole post match thread is eerily similar to this board after the Brentford game. So much so it makes you laugh when some people moan about the Villa fans being entitled!

For the penalties, the first looked like JP didn't get the ball, but crucially, didn't seem to touch Rogers either so i assume he dived. Imagine that's why they didn't refer.

The second looked pretty stonewall to me, not sure why Pawson was taking so many looks at it. Pedro didn't touch the ball, did touch their player. Why do we think Pawson took so long?

You're spot on about their second. Gruda just headed the ball back to them but, even worse, Joao Pedro and Adingra sprinted upfield leaving an enormous chasm on the far side for their two players left in acres of space. Sure enough, one of them controlled the ball and had an easy shot to the corner.
And to think that someone was blaming Bart for that.
I single out Igor who when we were clearing our lines seemed to decide he was the RB and was heading off that way when the ball came back in

I think half the time they were checking whether Bart had been fouled.

On a side note, how Martinez was allowed to get within 5 feet of the ref when he was watching the VAR footage, shouting at the ref to give it and not walk away when the lino told him to back off but continue to try to influence the ref, and not receive a yellow card sums up Pawsons performance tonight. Weak and bullied by Villa shithousery.

It's just astonishing Martinez got away with that. Also, how the f**k would Martinez know what had happened at the other end of the pitch anyway?

Sorry what? I'm not passing judgement on Fab, it's too early to tell how good he'll be, but some of them think Emery is inept? You're pulling my leg.

Just been speaking to my Villa supporting relative, he conceded the first half was fairly even although he thought 'The Villa' shaded it but thought we were incredibly lucky to still be in the game when we equalised as they'd been rampant since half time and the game should have been out of sight. He is hugely frustrated at dropping 2 points at home to an inferior side.

I always try to get a French feed for our matches. The on-air teams are completely neutral, although they do get slightly more animated when the underdog / non-filthy rich side is making a comeback or winning. The commentary itself has twice the verbiage, insights and fun than Sky or the BBC.

I know many of you in NSC speak 2 or more languages. What do you think of the Germans, Spaniards, Italians, etc. when they cover our games?

.
I’ve seen games in France, Brighton & England, and enjoyed them.

I would just like to add an observation about the decent turnout of Albion fans on a cold Monday night at this time of year.... yes it wasn't the most vociferous crowd from either team, but the lower tier was full, at least it felt that to us, I am assuming also the open blocks in the upper tier were too.... good effort

Good away point and no bookings for Dunk & JPVH
What has happened to JPVH?
Gone from top class to mistake ridden.
Very poor tonight.
