Yeah, I was out playing football at hove park, in the rain (its wednesday thing. You don't miss it for rain) but it wasn't raining when i left so i took my iPod.

The rain has drenched my ipod touch to the point that it won't turn on. I checked my bag when the rain had started getting hevier and it was on still.

But now. It won't turn on. I've used the hand attachment in my hoover to suck water out, i'm putting it in rice. But i thought it was out of battery when it wouldn't turn on so i plugged it in my laptop to charge adn nothing. no flash, no spark, no screen no sound, nothing.

Have i raped my self of my iPod? Any other water damaged ipod touch techniques?

Drenched my phone on many occasions. Don't do anything drastic, do you have an airing cupboard? If so, put it in there.

If not, leave it in your bedroom until tomorrow morning, and let it dry out (although it may need a little longer). I'd say you have a good chance of getting it working again if you do this.

Put it in a tub with rice. The rice will draw the moisture out.

(uncooked rice)

EDIT: Ah, see you are doing that.

Will try this over night. Thanks. I hope this doesn't mean the end of my iPod. I shall be pissed if it is. It was in a water proof f***ing compartment of my bag, with a carrier bag wrapped around it but with small pinprick holes around the bag so condensation could escape. I'm very bloody paronoid about my beauty and this is a shitter.

Good luck, dude. The metallic switch at the top of my iPhone stopped working after I was walking out with it in the rain a few weeks ago. Grrr.

I've used the hand attachment in my hoover to suck water out,

The Gadget Show tried 4 different methods of drying phones out.
Rice
Vacuum cleaner
Fridge
A N Other I can't remember

The vacuum one was the only one that worked to any degree.

The plan is tomorrow to suck out more water with the vacuum.

Then i'm going to scream, set up a Brighton terrorist cell, and assasinate steve jobs, just to satisfy my rage, then pop in to Samsung and grab a pair of headphones for my mobile.

think as you can't take it apart, you'll have trouble drying it out.
