We dropped a blackberry in boing stock (was in the top pocket). Left it to dry for a day or so on the kitchen window sill and it was alright. As long as you don't try and fire the battery up until the connections are completely dry you should be ok, remember electricity and water don't mix...if you do - you could fry it!

The Gadget Show tried 4 different methods of drying phones out.
Rice
Vacuum cleaner
Fridge
A N Other I can't remember

The vacuum one was the only one that worked to any degree.

the other one was leaving it under a lamp

Worthing
Years ago I actually put my mobile ( in a trouser pocket ) in the washing machine on a 1 hour hot wash cycle. Top phone at the time, Sharp flip thingy, the one Beckham was advertising.

Anyway, I left it on the side thinking it was dead, and a week later it rang.

Everything ok except the screen was fuzzy.

I dropped my mobile in my beer last week.
A night in the airing cupboard sorted it. Right as rain in the morning.
