And what if they have anti-missile defence guns?
I said bombs not missiles, torpedos etc.
And what if they have anti-missile defence guns?
No need to invade, just bomb the f***ing shit out of it.Sod it then, lets just invade Argentina and sort it once and for all
Whatdoes 'being British' mean though? They don't contribute to our taxes and they're not represented in Parliament. Yet we pay for their defence.
In a post-colonial world, why are they British?
Let's be honest, Argentina f***ed us over. Had Chile's military not been massing along the borders, Argentina would have sent their main full-time forces to Falklands.
Easy to say. Will YOU be fighting?
And what if they have lazers, and sharks, and sharks WITH lazers ...
If you're going to argue the point that you believe Argentina have a capable and modern military (not so) at least TRY to sound convincing.
... Then you'd know that this type of technology isn't exactly hard to get, neither is it particularly expensive for a nation.
i think you'll find it is. the US dont give out the very best toys to anyone at any price, only best friends like the Japanese have Aegis. if its available to export to any country you can assume its well behind the state of the art and we should be able to defeat it. hence the big fuss over the deployment of Dauntless, replacing exist ship, away as its a couple of generations better than anything the Argies have.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD5k105B2Zw Airman, Kabul? I assume you're in the RAF. Then you'd know that this type of technology isn't exactly hard to get, neither is it particularly expensive for a nation. Also to note, why on Earth should I try to be sounding convincing? Oh, and by the way. Who said they could use conventional tactics? Taliban are doing alright with their out-dated AKs and PKMs. The Mujahideen in Chechnya didn't too bad considering the Russian military is one of the largest....See the fallacy in your reasoning?
And for Looney, bombs? What difference does it make. For laser guided, you need someone to be on the ground with a designator. Fancy the job?
The Falkland Islands were first setted by the British in 1765, long before people arrived from the United Provinces of River Plate. Indeed, the British were the first to land on the Islands as far back as 1690 and that was way before the French arrived in 1764.
Argentina wasn't a proper nation until 1862. The River Plate settlers acknowledged the British sovereignty of the Islands and it was only because they started pirating the United States whalers that we had to assert that sovereignty.
The Falkland Islanders have every right to the Islands under International law. Their rights under prescription supersede any claims by the Argentine Government.
You keep spouting this rubbish you read in the Gaurdian, the Obvious question is if she tried then why didn't she? That seems to have slipped your and the Gaurdians notice.
Bottomline is its down to the people who live there. Politicaly speaking your f***ed, It may be cool to break up Empires, give people autonomy etc but when they dont want it you are politicaly screwed. Thatcher didn't win the election because of the War, labour lost it. Its not about Land or oil but the people who live on it.
So answer the question. If thatcher agreed to hand over the Falklands why didn't she?
Are you going to decend into Falmeresque conspiracy theories, Like thatcher engineered the war by saying yes then later said no? Why haven't any of the Juntas Generals pointed this out in their Biographies? Maybe because its Bollocks?
I do have two sons who would probably get called-up if it developed into a full scale war this time.

But it's not in may when he finishes his training
Stop talking bollocks, no one mentioned "conspiracies" and it's typical of your false flag tactics to pretend otherwise. The truth is a mixture of incompetence and hypocritical dishonesty.
In 1981 Thatcher removed the right of the Falkland Islanders to full UK Citizenship: British Nationality Act 1981 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Her government also wanted to scrap HMS Endurance:

and the plan to lease the Islands to the Argentines was only rejected by an alliance of Labour front bench and Tory back bench MPs:

You are right however to say Thatcher did not win the Election because of the war (which Foot supported). She won it because of the egomania of the Gang of Four. The Tory vote actually dropped from 1979 but the anti-Thatcher vote was split by the SDP.
