Are the Slade out camp thick or just don't listen?

What concerns me is that people think if we do manage the dizzy heights of mid table this season that someone the rest of the league will roll over next season and let us get automatic promotion because it is the plan. Football most definately does not work like that and the fans who do state Slade will get us mid table and then by default we will just stroll to automatic promotion need a reality check imo.

Word.

US has never been more 'on the money'

The table doesn't LIE and if it wasn't for Southampton having 10 points DEDUCED then we would be BOTTOM 3, it only needs Salde to come out with 'I didn't KNOW I needed to be in the TOP 7 in October' and GROUNDHOG season will be COMPLETE :angry::angry:

Another Home defeat on Tuesday will seal it imo

14th in this division is absolutely bloody shite I am sorry. Its a sows ears from a silk purse. That is SHIT and anyone who is happy with that and thinks that is an acceptable target needs to take a long hard look in the mirror. Also 3rd again, whats with the 3rd, 3rd is NOT the target next season AUTOMATIC promotion is to achieve the plan. 3rd is the PLAY OFFS with a 1 in 4 chance of sucess or a 3 in 4 chance of 3rd division football at the start of Falmer.

Also no employess dictates the terms of the length of their employment with the employers in ANY business. Employees are judged on results something Slade needs to be as well.

Get real - this season is probably the toughest third tier we've ever seen and it wont be much easier next season!

To get promoted we need Championship quality players NOW - serious money needs to be spent on this squad to get us into the Championship BEFORE we get to Falmer!!

Face it the facts DO NOT LIE....

we said see how we look after 10 games....fair enough. Well we have played 11 now and are bottom 4.

For a team that has spent money like we have we need to be much higher than this. Have we improved? For parts of games maybe....but the end of the games usually suggest that we screwed up somewhere and it cost us dearly.

I like Slade, but anyone who thinks that we will sudenly change is mistaken. We are SLEEPWALKING into a repeat of last year and unless something dramatic happens on the pitch I cannot see slade staying much longer.....

Lets face it would you be happy with things if you were TB and had spunked 90 million into a club and they were still shite?

Spot on.

75% of the current squad is League One average, at best.

I know we have had investment recently, but more serious money needs to be spent.

I'm sure Tony Bloom has factored this into his project.

Whether the money will come from him, the board, or other potential investors remain to be seen, but it will come

This club will never achieve anything with a fan base happy with 15th in the 3rd division. what is the point of spening £ 90 000 000 on a new stadium for 22000 fans with such pathetic ambitions. We should be aiming for a top ten finish at the absolute worst this season and 1st or 2nd next season , then 3-5 years in the Championship and then a charge for the Premiership.

Got to agree! Far too many fans seem happy to accept mediocrity as success.where are our aspirations?
So far,the season has been a dreadful disappointment and whilst a manager should be given more than a dozen games to get things right,if we haven't made subsantial improvements by the end of the Christmas programme,Slade will have to be goonered.I cannot take any more of this 'time to gel' lark.....we've played enough games for that to happen...if it is going to!Basically,we've spent quite a lot of dosh in recent Albion terms and the results are no better than mad Micky's were, and considerably worse than Slade's results at the end of last season prior to the clearout.Either the players we have signed are not good enough or the present management team are not getting the best out of them...in both instances ,this is the responsibility of that management team!
It cannot be allowed to carry on!:US:

I do not believe that TB is naive enough to believe that if we are struggling to avoid relegation this season that we will suddenly turn around into an all conquering league winning team next.

I fully expect him to review the situation during December and that RS will be givena christmas present of either a P45 or transfer kitty for the January window.

I know we all want what is best for our club, but that has to come with a little realism, and also remembering the history (in league position terms) of our club. I know you know as much about our history as anyone, and therefore you should know what percentage of our time we have spent in this division and lower.
I am not saying we should be happy with that, but we should accept that we support a club who will never be one of the "big boys". TBH if you can't live with that you are supporting the wrong club. IMHO.

yesterday, if we had an experienced left back instead of a centre half standing-in, we wouldn't have left so much space and I doubt they would have scored at all. Similarly if we had someone to push the defence out we wouldn't have invited so much pressure on ourselves and would have undoubtedly won comfortably.
So with McNulty back and Virgo (whose experience I really think we missed) we would have been much less inclined to be critical this morning.

We really are just a couple of players light of being a good side - certainly top end of mid table.

I do think Slade has made mistakes but then don't we all make mistakes at work? I worry more that his coaching team is still pretty weak.

But I'm not about to call for a blood letting although I'm sure that by the end of a tough November run of matches plenty will

I really am moved to say that I agree with US and think that you are wrong. Tell me, if you start with the belief that we cannot achieve success, and have the goal of finishing 15th and being happy with it (which someone else mentioned) where do you think you will end up? Mediocre ambitions lead to mediocre results. We can definitely aspire to be a good championship club, if not a "Wigan". We have a reasonably wealthy chairman, a new stadium coming and a potentially large fanbase. I would go as far as to say it is the lack of belief of some supporters that is holding us back.

Maybe US could say it is you that is supporting the wrong club. Go to Eastbourne if you want Conference football and let those of us who demand more push our club forward!

Surely any manager before the first game of the season in league should have the objective of winning the league. That is unrealistic in most cases but it is what I want to here. Wilkins 2 seasons ago to his credit stated his objective was to win the league and we ended up 7th. Although not a fan at the moment Wilkins did well to do that.

The thing with Slade is , what are his objectives ?. From all the post match interviews he seems very laid back and the general jist from him now is that to stay up or, dare we dream , to end up mid table. If Slade gets us to mid table or just below why do people think he's got what is needed to move on and get us automatic promotion the next season ?.

I think there are a good number of fans whoever who actually enjoy us being shit and being in the lwoer leagues and fighting relegation as it makes them feel like they are more of a fans for supporting such a shit team, a football martyr if you like. They will take tales of Hereford and Gillingham to their graves and will recite how BAD BHAFC were to anyone who will listen.

This type of fan dreads success as it will bring in thousands of " new " fans and butterfly fans. If BHAFC are successful and have gates of 22000, the 2000 or so who would watch them if they played in the Brighton league in Preston Park are no longer martyrs and their importances dwindles.
