[Football] Are Man U really in danger of getting relegated?

I agree re the glaziers spending. They have spent enough money to be successful, it has just been spent really badly.

The Ralph Ranwick thing is interesting to me. Utter madness to sack him when they didn't like his findings.

I wonder if something similar has happened with Dan Ashworth. I am guessing his ideas for running a football club are different to Radcliffe.
Rumours are that Ashworth was openly against them recruiting Amiron as manager. He was pushing for United to have an identity in their style based on who is in the squad and how they'd like to recruit over the next few transfer windows and then select a manager that fits their model.

The other board members disagreed and then terminated his contract. I cannot see their recruitment being anything except signing whoever the current manager wants. Madness!

Re all this Super League stuff and getting rid of the top teams in the EPL.
Let's say 2 x Manchester and 2 x North London leave.
That would mean Chelsea and Newcastle stay (unless you want them gone as well). Anyway, whichever way you look at it, a team will win the EPL in season 1 and the teams in 2nd to 5th will spend big to win the next year. By season 3 there will still be 4 big clubs with big budgets outspending everyone else.
As for Man Utd getting relegated, they've Saints, Palace & Ipswich at home in the next two months. Ask me again on the 1st March.
Also Wolves at home so it's in their own hands.

No I dont think Man Utd will be relegated

Most surprising relegation from the top division- Forest in 93 ?
But was Forest that much a surprise?

Clough had a serious drunk problem, he wasnt functioning properly, with sadly no one really at the City Ground to guide him through it.

I think United have too much over the other 4/5 teams at the bottom, we should know we’ve drawn against 4 of them 😂

Sorry, which is the other top team in North London?

Just as long as we finish above them, I win my drunken pre season £50 bet with a United fan who was winding me up with billy big bollocks stuff, whilst suggesting the Albion were in decline.

Relegation would be a massive bonus though. Won’t happen.

Those of us who went to school in Brighton in the late 90s and early 00s will certainly find it hilarious. The "massive man u fans" that we shared schools with, whilst we were in division 3/2 were absolutely unbearable

I was so gutted when they won the champions League in 1999

But sadly they won't go down

And sent down by one of their legends, couldn’t have been any better!
Sadly not strictly true. They would have been relegated anyway by results elsewhere if Law hadn't scored, but it did add a very amusing exclamation mark to the story of their demise that season.

Long time ago and my memory is not what it was but I seem to recall that the season after they got relegated they bounced straight back and in the 75/76 season finished 3rd or 4th playing some of the best football in the division. I only mention this because I seem to recall that they were a very entertaining side that season led by Tommy Docherty and I confess to watching them on MOTD avidly even though I was not a United fan.

Getting relegated could be the best thing for United as it would give them the chance to rebuild without the pressure…maybe

Some great players in the 75/76 squad

You're possibly right but getting relegated then was not the financial hit it would be now.

They would be perfectly fine and probably generate more hype and interest getting 120 points in the Championship instead of being a sleepy mid-table club year after year. One year in the Championship after relegation is not a problem, it is staying there that rapidly becomes a problem. The parachute money is good.

But they aren't going down (most likely they will finish above us as well) so its all very hypothetical.

Forgotten how young a lot of their first teamers were. Exciting team to watch. Docherty was replaced by Sexton ie chalk and cheese

Given a choice between Manure or Palarse finishing in 18th it has to be Palarse all the way.
