Are kids allowed in Dick's Bar?

Yes it's ridiculous. the parents just let them run around like nut jobs which gets on my f***** nerves. Never again, i know this can happen in the concourse but there is far more room and the idea of the East Stand Brasserie is for a bit of extra comfort not the the little snot wipers using it as a playground.

Is this during lunch or after the game?

I've been in the Brasserie for lunch at least eight times now and never seen or heard a problem with kids. There have been some in there having lunch with parents but never any running around.

I've not been in there after a game, though.

I took my niece and nephew and to the swan ......great for the kids and they are very welcome there...........there is a shortcut through falmer pond, the stewards will tell u not to go down there, but they have no authority to do so its just a polite request, ignore them and just walk through

It's shit anyway, they aren't missing much.

True.

You never feel any buzz of prematch and i have never heard any singing, i can only assume it is the type of fan that goes there. I suppose you can only compare it to an old fashion working mans club.

It is quite a let down.

One positive it does serve spirits.

After a game. Will never go in there again myself. The kids have a total riot :lolol:

They're allowed in the east brasserie after the game. That place is a great example of why they should stay banned from dicks.

Ha ha, you don't appreciate the impromtu 5-a-sides with an empty plastic bottle then while parents drink their beer oblivious!?

Sportsman was better. The only thing that was better about Withdean.

to be honest Dick's bar could be called anything, it is a pretty small soul less bar and I am sure quite a few go in to 'see what the fuss is' and never go in again realising it is nothing special - now if it was a massive home fans only type pub bar, the type you see near most grounds where there is always a bit of atmosphere pre-game, that would be worth going into......

Been in there with my young one for the Palace Beam Back game but otherwise never been in. Would be nice to have somewhere warm where the kids can wait before the game and be entertained for an hour/half an hour before kick off. We seem so good with the family friendly thing in so many other aspects but having somewhere other than your seat or the concourse is where the club lack thinking. They would make considerably more money selling cola than beer so why not have a non-alcoholic bar for the kids in each stand?

I guess Dick's is pretty bland, but that's not really what I'm in it for.

It's just a warm place to sit with my mates after the game, talk about the football, find out the other scores, have a copule of beers and then walk onto the train once the queues have died down. Job done as far as I'm concerned

I never understand it when I walk past at around 2:20 on a Saturday and there's around 40 people standing in the queue by the time they'd get in (if) BOUGHT a pint it would be closing i don't get it
That's simply not true. For reasons to do with managing the accessible minibus shuttle service between Sussex University and the stadium, I regularly arrive at the Dick's Bar queue sometime between 2.15pm and 2.30pm. It never takes more than 10 minutes queuing to get inside the building and service at the bar is very quick.

The 'canteen in a half-decent office building' description is bang on. Not worth the queuing, IMO, unless it's absolutely freezing on the concourses.

Its never cold in the enclosed WSU.

I can't see why they can't increase the floor space by moving it out over the shop..... Seems to be a wasted space, unless they are thinking of putting a mezzanine in the shop at some point.
