Yes, fair enough. The East Stand Brasserie is a complete nightmare after matches, and there is no impetus to address this at all.

There should be. Can't argue with that.

(Not that it should need to come from the staff. Parents should take responsibility)

Fair point but is a bar full of 'suitably refreshed' football fans a place for young children?

Depends on the individuals, again. My boy is 6 foot tall, 14 years old, and perfectly able to cope with adult company. 'Kids' covers a very broad group.

I'm going to be controversial here and I've not read through this post, however te club is NOT child friendly and as Bozza has I think alluded to the whole "friendly" message of staying behind after matches for a pint in a relaxed atmosphere has not worked because of over zealous stewards who want to stop things like kids having a kick around with a bottle top in the concourse after the match.

Last weekend we had a run in with two stewards in west lower who were stopping our three kids from playing football in the southern end of WSL. There were no issues with other members of the public and they were having fun. However despite trying to ascertain why they could not play there, they could not say why and were extremely rude and threatening toward the kids(aged 11,12&14).

The club has said that it wants to encourage people to stay behind the match in a relaxed at atmosphere. But where are those of us with kids supposed to go?

I'm totally with Bozza with this...no other club excludes children from parts of their ground.

It's a shame that some people choose to ignore a polite request simply because the people making it have no authority.

Choice 1) Lets take the kids where there is loads of traffic and cross roads etc etc exposing them to danger

Choice 2) Lets take kids down a road by a pond where there is no traffic and use the foot bridge which I am entitled to use as it was put the so pedestrians can cross "Safely"

In contrast to this, there are often several kids playing football on the WSU concourse after the match and I've never seen a steward try to stop them.

I really don't see the problem with kids going in to the bar. If they are badly behaved, then the club should deal with that. They would deal with bad behaviour from adults, wouldn't they?

It's quite easy to have an enjoyable time and chat with children present. I manage that at my school and the vast majority have behavioural difficulties.

I say let kids in but no adults and let a Lord of the Flies structure develop.
