Dicks Bar is bar though is it not? However it is protectively guarded by the 'I sat next to Dick Knight at Withdean' brigade.

Could they not admit a limited number of kids. Wasn't it 'Falmer for ALL'?

It is Falmer for all,,I want to go and sit in the dugout next game or in the press area, but i'm sure that won't be allowed either...What's you point???

That's ridiculous, you have to be VERY special to get into the press area ( there you go I'll cross them in) but should designated supporters areas exclude kids?

We need a Kuszczak!

I don't think it's a problem allowing kids anywhere in the stadium but it's the wet parents just letting their little special ones run riot. I nearly had an empty cola bottle kicked in my face last Sat. If it had made contact I would kicked off. East Brasserie bar can get packed yet the parents are somehow oblivious in their own little 'look how amazing my kids are competition' kinda way

I'm on your side!

Thing is, I take my kids and I can't make up my mind whether I'd bother going in there anyway.

Ok here's where i stand: (which will probably still be on the fence)..90% of the time I have the kid in tow so can't go in there anyway. But the times that I have nipped in, it's bloody rammed and basically a waste of time unless you go early enough to sit down.

I wouldn't want to take the little chap in there anyway purely because of its wall-to-wall rammedness, and as he would just stand there quietly, what's in it for him!? May as well have a swifty on the concourse and go to our seats.

Should kids be BANNED though? I'm not fussed either way, but I agree with HKFC that not everyone's kids are gonna be kicking bottles around and being a nuisance.

So yeah, like I said, I have no idea what side I'm on. In fact I dont even know what sides there are now.

It's like a school canteen, and no you can't.

Is it really? Dont ever remember my school canteen having carpets, comfortable seats, serving beers wines and spirits, displaying pictures of Albions fight to get Falmer and showing sky sports news / highlights of the match I've just attended and having the odd live band playing.

I took my niece and nephew and to the swan ......great for the kids and they are very welcome there...........there is a shortcut through falmer pond, the stewards will tell u not to go down there, but they have no authority to do so its just a polite request, ignore them and just walk through

It's a shame that some people choose to ignore a polite request simply because the people making it have no authority.

It was!!!

But come on why dont we be grateful for what is a superb facility.................without harking back too much to Gillingham and Withdean, Dicks bar would've seen a long way off back in those dark days.

Yes granted it is a bit 'sterile' but what did we expect them to build a Red Lion type place full of 'character', all oak beams and stained glass windows? It's a bar for Albion fans to congregate in for a pre / post match drink whilst watching match highlights and a place we would've said was a 'must' (in fact we did) when campaigning for planning permission.

Why would I be grateful for a facility that my family are not allowed to use?

I got taken to Liverpool v Zenit last week as a guest of the club and they have a cracking sports bar at Anfield that is way way better than Dicks and makes you realise how much better it could have been in there. The poor design is to the detriment of the bars takings as its just not somewhere you'd ever going on a non match day the way it currently is.

Absolutely NOT this.

If there is a problem with anyone behaving inappropriately in any part of the ground, then that behaviour should be addressed. If kids are running riot in the ESB then they should be asked to leave, just as a loud boorish drunken middle-aged man might be asked to leave. I presume that we would all agree that the answer to that scenario would not be to ban all middle-aged men from the bar, in case some of them behaved poorly?

If my children were in any stadium bar they'd be as well behaved as just about anybody in there, not to mention quiter, more polite and more knowledgable about the football.

I'm sure your children are fine, but sadly there are a fair number that are allowed to run riot in the bars. I think that some people just want an area where this is not the case ( whether that be by not admitting children, or having an active policy to throw them out if they run amok ). Personally I'm not set against children in the bars, just it would be nice not to have them running around.

In my own strange world
No kids should ever be allowed in a bar.I took mine in a Pub once and the free-loading bastards ponced drinks and crisps off me all day long and never once put their hand in their pocket to get a round in.Bastards.

As I said. The behaviour of the individuals is the issue, not their age.
