Lived in Spain for 2 years and went to langauge school twice a week, so i'd say its pretty good, if a bit rusty these days... I can still hold a conversation though and enjoy being able to hold my own with the locals when i'm back there

Wouldn't call myself fluent, but never had a problem conveying my point of view or being relatively sure what was being said to me in most situations...wouldn't say it opened doors to me, but it made my life a hell of a lot easier than that of most of my Anglophile colleagues who couldn't speak a word of anything other than English, it took me far less time to earn the respect of the local workforce.
