Apprently due to all the rain we've had there is a load of decent size sea trout in Newhaven harbour. Other than that nothing about yet another month or so get to hope/birling gap, low tide, spinning. The Bass love it!

I went down the marina this afternoon & took awalk along both arms, TBH I was shocked with the amount of people who had feathers going, out of the 60 or so people fishing, Id say only 7 or 8 had bait going! I was lucky enough to see a couple of fish get reeled in but nothing special & it seemed to be like that all day from the people I asked.

I've never really rated the marina arms, specially when its hot so many mackerel spinners, and never had a big catch or many bites, I prefer my spot just right of the west pier (where I caught my best catch), loved a bit of boat fishing last summer as well, the guy from the arm who comes round to collect the money loaded my gps with loads of wrecks and hot spots bit of a touch, sold my boat now though, I really, have never rated the marina though, Shoreham's good in places had some nice sized bass, gurnards and one day loads of mullet off shoreham harbour last year they really went for the red rag. Bait diggings alright in shoreham as well. I actually quite miss fishing, might have to get the old rods and reels out of the loft if this weather turns decent. Need the weather on my side though can't be dealing with beach casting with the weather we've been seeing.

Marina is always packed with feather spinners. The amount of times they've tangled me up, I really am against the marina.

What everyone else's opinion on the marina?

i had a 4lb bass of the marina the other monday... the guy next to me had a 7lb... 5lb and a 3lb bass!... always seem to catch on the marina!! all you need is half a fillet of mackerel on a size 4/0 hook with about 4 foot hook length.. use a 4-5oz led (just to hold in the tide) and cast it about 15-20 foot from the wall!!!
