Bloody cars.

I'm not a cyclist but have had the same as a pedestrian. I was waiting to cross a busy road when it was really foggy. The air tasted of car fumes. I got an awful throat and chest infection.

no but plenty of cyclists have cut inside me in slow traffic then showed complete disregard for the red light, hope that helps.

Yeah well I'm one of these cyclists that follow the Highway Code at all times.

It's about time some of these fat arse lazy motorists looked out for cyclists.

brighton, actually
always follow highway code, unless some dumbass car driver blocks the cycle lane, or cuts up going round a corner-

favourite pasttime is wagging finger at people using mobiles in their cars- one almost hit me the other day, but didnt seem to care.. until the cops behind pulled him over..:lolol:

I can't stand cyclists they just get in the way, and never wear helmets whilst cycling in the road.
I belive the phrase your looking for is GENERALISATION!!!

I always wear a cycle helmet. I value my skull without dents in it. I abide by the highway code, I like my bike being in one piece.

I think you need to look a bit closer to home!
Do you pass cyclsits giving them about a metre of space?
Do you always ensure you leave the cycle advance space free at lights?
Can you say that you've never stopped in a cycle lane?
Can you say you've never carved a cyclsit up at a junction?
Have you ever driven anywhere without a seatbelt?

I thought the whole point of being a cyclist was to ignore red lights , bump up the curbs when needed , pavement it when neccasary , steam down one way roads to save time

I cycled in London for years and started wearing a mask due to the fumes, it was scary the amount of muck that would come out after just one ride. I believe this cycling brought on asthma.

A report on radio 4 last night higlighted the fact that cyclists that wait at red lights (women) are more likely to be killed by motorists especillay Lorry drivers (stated 85% don't check mirrors prior to turning). It stated that cyclists are encouraged to get infront of the traffic so that they are seen by motorists who can then take the simple steps to avoid them.

I am always amazed on my weekly rides the courtesy shown to horse riders around Sussex, stopping, giving a wide berth and being patient. Where as cars seem desperate to pass me to fast, close and with little regard for my safety, hmm perhaps I should strart cycling a tandem dressed in a pantomine horses outfit.

I am one of many 1000's of cyclists who stop at red lights, wear a helmet and stick to bike lanes, if only the southdowns lead everywhere, off road, car free and clean air journeys everytime.

Always pass cyclists with lots of room
whats the point you just ignore it and cycle off anyway onto the curb or pavement
Never stop in cycle lane
never carved up cyclist but have been carved up loads
always wear a seatbelt thats just stupid

The point im making is (most) cyclists do not obey the rules and do not wear helmet

I bought a bike a fortnight ago, i wear a helmet, but most drivers do not give a toss, and already i have nearly been knocked off, high time motorists left their cars at home, especially for short journeys, i mean just how many more cars can we fit on our streets.

Lazy f***ing gits

Cylists do not have to legally wear helmets, however they are fools if they don't.

Cylists have to use the road, would be good to have a test, although tests dont always stop bad cysclists, drivers.

Thanks to the congestion charge there's not that many cars around here but there are more than a few cyclist (by no means all) who ignore traffic lights and pedestrian crossing. I saw one hit a pedestrian yesterday. The cyclist did get arrested though.

Whenever I am driving and I see a cyclist acting like a tit I don't get angry, I just smile and think "You're going to come off alot worse than me mate!"

Going up the Devil's Dyke Road the other day, and two cyclists had the line of cars slowed to be careful of them. When I got to the front, the thick twat bloke decided to overtake his girlfriend .....without looking, signalling, or having any interest to his surroundings.

Sure enough, by the time I got past the Dyke Rd bridge over the A27, an ambulance was steaming past me going the other way. I only hope it wasn't a motorist in a head-on because of that cyclist.

Sadly, most people do NOT slow down when approaching a blind hill-top, and some drivers still attempt overtaking manoevers just before them as well.

It's a guaranteed accident, sooner or later, and regular unsuspecting people are going to die.

i'd like to think i'm a responsible cyclist (Helmet, lights, red lights etc) so why do GROWN MEN have to scream things out of passenger windows, or throw food stuffs, cigarette ends etc out of the window while the equally mature driver (do you still have to be over 17 to drive?) pisses himself laughing?

PS yes I drive as well
