How would you do so without unlawfully running a red light yourself, if they are abiding by the instructions set out above?

If they are coming across you on a red then you would probably be going through on green.

Anyway no judge would convict you for killing a weirdy cyclist would they ?

No, you've "won" when they're on the road, because thats where we're legally entitled to be. If you don't like it, don't drive.

Im not gonna give up driving because of a few twats who dont know the highway code and just do whatever they want.

How a thread can turn from it's orignal point, by a couple of selfish car drivers trying to force their opnion on everyone.

Explain how im selfish my opinion on the matter is that im a good driver who drives carefully. Also a pedestrian, and i have to dodge bikes all the time.

They have there own rules and dont give a flying fcuk bout anyone else .IN MY OPINION adn experiences.

People who ride bikes think they are better than anyone else and can do whatever they want.

I can't believe that someone who can't use punctuation or capital letters can actually drive a car safely.

Generally means you can't pass the theory test, so in a way, yes.

Even with dyslexia - and I'm dyspraxic myself by the way - there's this magical thing called a "spellchecker".

Here the cyclists seem to think that they own the road. The majority (especially the bloody students!) will happily charge through a red line, running down pedestrians at will, will swing into the middle of the road turning left at roundabouts/junctions, go on the pavements whenever they fancy (even when there are perfectly good cycle lanes) and ring at pedestrians to tell them to get out of their way. They are generally a pain. However, there are some that are perfectly courteous and respect the rules of the road.

A couple of weeks ago I was walking across the green on my way home, along the path, and a cyclist came up behind me and started ringing his bell for me to get out of the way (as there was a bike coming the other way so he couldn't overtake). I tell you what, he didn't much like it when I pointed out it was a f***ing footpath. :lolol:

The thing that gets me is that they don't seem to realise that when they are on the road they are vulnerable, as there's only going to be one winner if they hit a car.

i'd like to think i'm a responsible cyclist (Helmet, lights, red lights etc) so why do GROWN MEN have to scream things out of passenger windows, or throw food stuffs, cigarette ends etc out of the window while the equally mature driver (do you still have to be over 17 to drive?) pisses himself laughing?

PS yes I drive as well

and following on from this point, someones mention pedestrians (and yes I can walk as well) have you ever tried using the cycle lane on the seafront, its a joke, and if you run into one of the lardarses who gets the blame.

PS in answer to the orignial point, thats why those Cycle Boxes painted on the road have started appearing at traffic lights (you know, the ones cars drive into)

I’ve heard it actually legal/or will soon be legal for a cyclist to go through a red light as long as you’re not crossing the line of traffic and nothing is coming the way you’re going. i.e. turning left at a cross roads and nothing else is going down that junction.

Thats great news, about time too.I'll like to take some of the credit for that law change thanks to my relentless crusade over the past 20 years in highlighting what a waste of space traffic lights are, by ignoring 99% of the ones i've come across.
I've proved that the law is uninforceable too by giving 2 fingers to any Police/public/do-gooder that has protested.
