The solution is entirely in the hands of that idiot nation. Won't be holding my breath for any meaningful change anytime soon
Equally you could add that the other political party is too timid or, probably quite logically, views that it holds insufficient political capital to do anything about it. And that it's a non-political body from the nation, which even invokes the name of the nation in its very first name, that drives the agenda, and is funded by other non-political bodies that holds the wealth. There's no better example of the difference between the nation, and the political nation. Assault weapon bans and other restriction the sale and ownership of firearms poll well, often 2-1 or more in favor. But you've got one major political party committed to seeing that they never pass, and the commitment of the minority opposed is insane.
In politics weakly attached, mildly interested majorities get rolled by committed, enraged minorities all the time.
F=ma is a law in physics, but also in politics.
There are 2 or 3 per week but most don't make international news. Under the definition that a mass shooting is 2 or more I think there were around 200 last year in the US. I haven't verified the number though.Mods, suggest changing the title of this thread to “American mass shootings update” - there seems to be 2/3 a year so seems a sensible amendment and keeps it nice and topical.
Gun control, obvsWelcome back everybody, 10 killed near LA, anybody have any suggestions as to how to stop these atrocities?

When politicians start to listen to the majority of Americans and enact gun control. Unfortunately, money, power and a rigged electoral system keep the loud minority with disproportionate enough power to keep things as they are.Welcome back everybody, 10 killed near LA, anybody have any suggestions as to how to stop these atrocities?
Make them insure themselves and their weapons.Welcome back everybody, 10 killed near LA, anybody have any suggestions as to how to stop these atrocities?

Steady on there. I think you will find a VERY strong correlation between what you are saying and Confederates, NOT Americans.Thoughts and prayers usually works wonders. Rinse and repeat.
It's part of their constitution, and a noisy bunch of wankers think this is the be all.
Not the Nine O'Clock News parodied this 40 years ago. It will never change.
And thank f*** we don't have something equivalent written in the constitution (of the Church of England - the nation doesn't have one) to trigger the devout whenever change is threatened. To be fair to the C of E, there is no chance of these kindly folk invoking such madness.
That's the province of the rabid right. And I have them on ignore. f*** 'em. And, sorry, but, f*** the USA, too.
Not sure you’ve understood. People who massacre dozens of their fellow citizens, in a country where registered guns top 300million never mind the illegal ones, don’t tend to worry about completing paperwork. The only safe alternative is probably to emigrate.Make them insure themselves and their weapons.
Anyone then caught without gun insurance, confiscate their weapons and heavily fine them.
I would imagine the insurance companies would love a slice of that pot, and would insist on a very high premium. Eventually, they would not be able to afford to keep their lethal toys.
So I was way under. Tragic.Gun Violence Archive
