It's good that he's supporting 'his' team and well done to the Gullys Gang for roping him in.

I think loads of the kids who 'support' Prem teams change their minds once they've seen a real game.

Pretty sure he'll grow to respect his Millwall roots though and no reason why you can't have many years of banter between you & well done for supporting his choice so far!

I have a little nephew who gets stuff from Gully every year and consequently is obsessed with Gully. However his parents support Fulham and will be taking him to the Cottage when he's old enough. I expect he will always have a soft spot for BHA, but if his parents are keen to instil him with the family lineage, then good on them. I'd do the same!

Maybe your son is still young enough to have Millwall installed as his primary team? At least it sounds like he'll be pretty unique at school, and there's nothing wrong with that!

It'll work out nicely for you both I'm sure!

Thank you Freddie, i will carry on supporting his choice, its important he has his own mind, unfortunately i have been brain washed. I look forward to the banter, saying that he already tells me, Millwall are rubbish dad.

having lived in Leeds all my life my dad was good enough to let me choose. I "supported" leeds for a while when younger but came around when I went to my first Brighton game when I was 11.

There is hope yet. Its nice to keep it in the family but at least he's kept it local.

Gym, you must be the only Brighton fans in Leeds, how was it growing up in Leeds supporting Brighton?

Lonely. But at least I was individual and I stuck to my guns. There are more of us up here than you would imagine. I travel to away games with a group of about 8 at times. We had more seagulls fans in my cricket club than there where Leeds when we played the other week. Very strange

Fair play to you mate, some good character building.

he has mentioned arsenal but i try and ignore it, palace and Charlton would be totally unexceptable, west ham could mean life on the naughty step:lol:.

Bring him down selhurst mate he'll love it :-D

Seriously though to answer your point, my son was Chelsea mad from the earliest age up till around 12 ish, then he kind of lost interest and re emerged at 14 a die hard Palace nutter and still is at 20.

Obviously i'm well pleased, I never tried to persuade or dissuade him, just took him along occasionally, He said he started coming for the atmosphere and just got into it.

If your lads old boy goes to games he will come along now and then, like others say just see what happens and keep your fingers quietly crossed that he chooses the wall and if not ? like you say could be worse ;-)

I can't read through all the shit. But some people think that Brighton is a prosperous place but the real facts are that the household income in Brighton is one third lower than Reading.

Millwall dockers culture has more in ken with Shoreham Harbour (Southwick and Fishersgate) historically. I would sooner have an ex-Millwall supporter living next door than ex-Chelsea. That is just my history.

There would be nothing wrong with him supporting the Albion and then having a soft spot for Millwall - I don't mind Millwall myself, so I'm all with you on that. But living in Tonbridge!! You've lost me as a friend now!!! Move to High Brooms....if only for the kids sake, there's a lot of Albion in T.Wells.

Yeah there are a few of us in T. Wells but whenever I go to Cassidy's to watch a Brighton game (the only place in town I am aware of with Sky Sports) I seem to be one of only two or three there. Maybe it's because everyone else can actually afford to go to the game...sad times for me.

I bumped into one of your ex-players recently - he told me he grew to love playing for Millwall but when he joined from another London club, all he remembers is thousands of Millwall fans shouting "You're SHIT" everytime he touched the ball!
