*sigh*

I don't know. It's June. To be honest, I don't really care. And frankly I think it's a bit lame to be sat here at this time of year worrying about a bit of one-up-manship against Palace when none of us have the first clue what will happen.

Hardly worth the sigh is it? Maybe you don't care and maybe he does but dont give it the high and mighty reply. Who are you to say its lame anyway?

Ok, fair enough. It must be a bit of a U turn. Maybe we didn't sell as many ST's as the club were hoping.

They haven't even gone on general sale yet, give them a chance.

I think the problem the club has, is that they have to allow 10% if requested. This is why half the South stand can only be sold to home fans if the away club does not take up their allocation. A lot like last year, there will be empty seats, as the ground can only be segregated in a number of places due to the concourses also having to be split. So for example a club only takes 1500 then there will be a lot of empty seats in the South East section. As a club goes over one limit another whole section will have to be opened up.
Not many clubs will go over 2100 so I anticipate that BHA will normally have the South stand as a home stand. But if they sell 2200 then half the South stand would be away fans

IMHO

I think you are spot on. It's just a matter of how much effort the club make to retain that extra 1200 seats potentially available in most games.
For example, send the away club tickets for the south east and east stand blocks first and only release the south stand blocks if they are actually needed. If they do that proactively there will be room for an added 1200 Albion fans for most games. If they can't be bothered there will be a lot of empty seats.

If a club sell 2,500 tickets after asking for 3,300 (ESL away blocks , SEC and part of the South Stand) I don't think there will be 800 empty seats. There could be a block of empty seats used for segregation purposes allowing 4-500 Albion fans to buy matchday tickets as long as there are sufficient facilities to accommodate them in the partitioned concourse.

East stand has the half block in the corner and the whole of the next block, and half the next block which is where the split will be. ****
Each block is 28 wide. If you times that by 25 deep, you will get 700 seats per block. So total for east stand away fans is approx 1300

south east corner is 810

South stand is 2550, half south stand up to split is 1200

Add this up, and you can see potential splits.

East stand 1300 .......... barnsley etc

East stand + South East 2100 .......... majority of clubs

East stand + South East + Half South Stand 3300 ............ Leeds etc

East stand + South East + South Stand 4500 ............ enough for FA cup

**** When i say blocks, i meant as they seem when looking at them. In the east there is a small block on the end. If you like to think in the way the Amex is actually mapped out, with gangways in the middle of blocks then the first 2 blocks at the south end are for away fans

Excellent explanation - thank you.

I wonder how many Clubs would bring down 3,300 in the league? I think it is excellent financial sense to expand the away end (I believe we will have about 2,000 match day tickets to sell to home fans) - we missed out on revenue last season at home to the likes of West Ham, Southampton, Pompey etc.

Rubbish. It's 10% or 2,000. You don't see Man United dish out 7,600 tickets to every team that goes to Old Trafford or Arsenal give 6,000 for the Emirates do you? And Liverpool's normal away allocation is something like 2,000, which isn't even 5%. We can offer these teams whatever we want, providing it's at least 2,000.

I thought it was 10% or 3000, whichever is the lower? Either way, your point still stands.

We could get away with only offering 2,100 to every club but this would come back to bite us on the arse because the allocation would be reciprocal when we travel away.

And of those, how many would want to bring more than 2,100 to The Amex but won't have been able to because of our restriction, hence they will put the same limit on us?

I reckon we're talking Palace only. And they did that last season anyway.

Point taken , on that basis we should only give Palace the 810 seats in the South East Corner when the Half Hour Wait stand doesn't get a safety certificate for next season.
