No more boom and bust? Best chancellor ever? Getting on with the job? Britain is well-placed to weather the credit crunch - no, it's the worst economic crisis in 60 YEARS!

Listen, Gordon, Alistair. We're in the shit. BIG TIME. You've admitted that. Do the decent thing, eh - for the sake of the country, just go. Please.

"He said that voters were "pissed off" with Labour's handling of the economy"

Buzzer, I am confused. Where did they blame the tories? Normally, the boys in red will blame the tory policy. I guess they have the global crisis to fall back on this time and hope for the best. This will not be the first time that the 'people's party' have handed over a wrecked economy.

The lefties will be turning in their graves at this - Judgement Day is very soon and the red flag will finally be lowered.

Indeed, BoF. Reading behind the lines I'd say that Darling is right royally pissed off with getting the blame for the mess his predecessor left him in and still tries to control. Darling really does seem to be saying that they've lost the plot.

I should be enjoying this. I've waited long enough to see Labour and the socialists finally defeated in this country but this is going to be a very painful next few years.

f***ing Brown should hang his head in shame. No money saved during the boom years, corporate and personal borrowings at record levels, no gold reserves, rampant increases in the public sector to artificially boost employment and the economy. Yeah, f***ing hilarious Gordon. What do you do as an encore?

For how long ??? ??? ???

With a bit of luck, Scotland will go SNP leaving Labour with a rump of 180 MPs this election, 100 next election and fractures, fissures and splits see the end of the Labour / Co Op / Union movement as a unified political movement. They can then go the way of the liberals after the first world war.

Okay. I'm very very biased against them but trying, well almost, to look objectively at this just how does Labour even attempt to defend its record and campaign for a 4th term.

You know what. They really don't seem to want it.

"We've f***ed up".

It's an interesting electoral strategy that is unfolding.

Wait for Part 2, before making a judgement:-

"But can Cameron get us out of this mess?" This may play better than people realise.

Seems that way to me. I really think that it is time for a change and the Tories can't do worse than Labour

Better for who? I know you cling to the hope that somehow people will "wake up" and embrace a truly leftist manifesto but Cameron now has the perfect reason for NOT trying to change things in one election.

He can just say "look, the mess is too big to fix over one term. Labour have messed up so bad that it'll take at least 3 terms to get back to where we were before Gordon got his mitts on number 11.

labour will never come to power again...scotland will break from the union...and without the mps in scotland Labour are in trouble...I think in 2010 Labour will get less than 100 mps with lots of major figures in the party losing their seats. It will make the 1997 masscare of the tories seem lame.

A better part 2, Beachy, is this:

Darling and Straw are plotting against Brown. He won't last long after the conference season. Not when the Tories start getting 25% higher in the polls on a regular basis and Labour lose the outstanding Glasgow by-election.

And then there's the unions....

Nope. Labour are well and truly as f***ed as this country.

There is quite a while before the next election!!!

If you had sense a few months of real shit (promoted by yourself). Followed by a year of real improvement (promoted by yourself) You WILL look quite good and this has been used in politics before!!
